This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition and 2019 edition.
The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

I mean agree Y sucks, but I suspect most of the alcohol I've had on AC (and subsidiaries) has been in Y.
On another matter, I just got in some exercise by walking 40 minutes to a bar, where I picked up:
1. A bottle of wine that I liked from my tasting last weekend
2. A new tasting flight of 6 wines
3. A half bottle of champagne for the tasting
4. Some cheese for the tasting
5. Some meat for the tasting
6. Some caviar for the champagne
They also served me a glass while I was there.

Evidently.
I don't think I've ever paid out of pocket for booze on an airplane. And does UA even do booze service on those crappy ERJs? I've only flown one once, DFW-IAH, and it was miserable, my back was incredibly sore even after that tiny flight, so I've avoided them ever since.

Sad business news as Alberta & B.C. Army & Navy stores closed temporarily since March will remain closed and disappear from the retail landscape. I recall the store in Saskatoon from my younger days and its ancient wooden escalator but heard it closed a number of years ago. The Edmonton location right on Whyte Ave. in the heart of Old Strathcona will leave a hole for what could be a while as it could be hard to find a new business for the large lot given these tough times.

I guess pandemics are murder for low margin businesses.

I saw a plane today! Actually, saw 9 of them. I was out for a bike ride when the Snowbirds flew right over me at what seemed a pretty low altitude, trailing smoke. It was very cool! And luckily I didn't crash, even though I was very distracted.
