FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition and 2019 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

I won't brag about gas price, but I filled the car up with diesel yesterday 1.529usd per gallon.

June 2nd about half the casinos are opening, starting with flagship properties for the chains.

Nightclubs, brothels, adult entertainment, gatherings over 50 people, and Air Canada Rouge will have to wait for the next phase.

I like how you lump brothels, adult entertainment and Rouge in the same bucket.

Depending who you are, I guess they could all be considered sins of some form.

It was, but the Shell, Esso, and Husky stations near me typically have the same prices for all three grades.

I always find the differential between mid-grade and premium gas fascinating too. Between brands, the percentage difference in price can be all over the place.

Since I've tuned my car to run on high octane and I'd prefer to avoid ethanol, my fueling options are somewhat limited. So I try to avoid looking at the price per litre when I trundle down the hill to the Chevron.

My attitude of passive denial might change when our office reopens. Since being packed in like sardines on a train for 40 minutes is not exactly appealing to me right now, I may end up driving to downtown more often.

115.9 here in YYJ. Haven't filled up yet, but the differential to premium is pretty high here .

I actually got next day Amazon shipping on a Saturday recently. But that was Amazon delivery, anything shipped with Canada Post has been a gong show since the pandemic started. You can pay for any speed of shipping but they all take 5-7 days regionally and 10+ cross country.

My new laptop had a 'guaranteed' delivery of yesterday. Wednesday I got a notice of a delay until Friday. It was still in Kentucky. Ummmm... Does UPS know where Victoria is? Or Canada?

UPS was surprisingly quick for me, the package was shipped from HKG on Tuesday, it was here by Thursday afternoon.

Sometimes I think that Purolator just skips my town on Thursdays. I've had many Amazon shipments that were supposedly out for delivery on Thursday but didn't come until Friday. So either the tracking information is fictitious or the driver just doesn't bother coming to my bit of the sticks.
