This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition and 2019 edition.
The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

All this talk about tooth effects of indulgences reminds me of a show my boys loved watching a few year ago called Spliced.
We still quote an exchange from that.
"Gravy is not a vegetable!!"
"No, it's a fruit."
"Ummm..."
"IT'S A FRUIT !!"

Sad to see that during a national tour to salute Canadians and front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic a Snowbird has fallen from the skies above Kamloops.

The Cypress Grove Bermuda Triangle was also not my favorite type of cheese.
But oh god the cheddar.
The nuts with honey were also delicious.
I have to wait another week

But it will be Southeast France, which should be good.

It was all pretty good, but I'll agree that part was not my fav.

Blood salami, blood sausage, black pudding, boudin noir, Blutwurst, morcela, blodpudding, whatever, I've never liked any of that stuff. After trying morcela in Portugal for the first time a few months ago, I've decided I'm just done with that category of foods.

Wow! Here at the MILLS waypoint we've just been overflown by 13 (and counting) light aircraft on the same non-YVR flight path in the past 10 minutes. Obviously coordinated,
I wonder if it is some kind of Snowbirds tribute.

Yup, that's exactly what it was! Was announced on the 6 o'clock news , but I seem to have been just a touch south facing to have caught them from my living room.

Very cool. So we saw the tail end as they were dispersing back to their respective bases.
A nice tribute. Very touching.

Met the Snowbirds personally on a few occasions going back to my teens as an Air Cadet. Was always impressed by them - never came across as the stereotypical fighter pilot personality.
Sad days. I have thought for a while that they should have moved on from an airframe design that is over 60 years old, but it might be more reliable. I am not rushing to judgement.
Pretty sure that more crashes and pilot deaths are associated with the CF 18. Less risky maneuvers vs higher numbers, it is hard to know.

(No idea whether the plane's age played a role in this, or what their accident rate is compared to other acrobatics teams, just pointing out that there are lots of things that can bring an aircraft down)
