Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

Is this new? Do I have to make the reservation and then just move my seats to E+?
I'm doing last month's expense report and I see that United has been charging me for all my Economy plus seats, even as a gold. Some were automatically refunded but not all. I never knowingly purchased the seats, but I did pick the seats after I made the reservation. Strange.

I concur ^. I booked a r/t SFO-FLL for goalie-parents three days ago for travel Jan, 9-April 13 using two e-certs and it ticketed instantly as after I purchased it and I then flipped over to view the reservation, I was also able to view the e-receipt

In addition to the "change flights" button not working and getting an error page, I now find that the "redeem upgrade" button gives a somewhat scarier error message that "We were unable to review the latest information for this itinerary." Flight date is still some months off, so I will see what happens, but I wonder if others are seeing this.

Apparently, UA.com thinks 2 hours and 22 mins is actually 3 hours and 22 mins...

not to mention the apparent 15 minute flight time between CDG and FRA on my itinerary as well...

Ah, well maybe it's more of an, "old problem that should've been fixed with a 'new website.'"

For the last two days, I have been unable to complete any purchases through united.com. I get all the way to the last page, click to complete payment and get the following message:

We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions. United.com was unable to verify and /or charge your Credit Card. Please modify your Payment Information or use a different Credit Card.

I have three cards in my profile, the same result for all three. I can use the cards just fine on everything else and while completing the purchases over the phone, but the website kicks every single attempt back

I just noticed it earlier this week -- the only reason I noticed it was the site was reporting two different durations for the same flight -- confirmed Y SYD-SFO was showing as 14:45; waitlisted J SYD-SFO on same flight duration shown as 13:45 two rows down on the same page.

Asked a friend who has some "under the hood" knowledge about what's going on and also connections was going to report it through the slightly-outside-of-appropriate channels.

A flight attendant friend suggested that it's really only "perceived duration" -- i.e. that the flight feels an hour longer in coach than it does BF which probably isn't too far off...

The new site is so spectacularly broken when it comes to award searches, it's not even funny. NRT-BKK saver J on the 380 shows available. And when I search separately, BKK-HKT saver J on a whole mess of flights that would work. But it won't return the combined itinerary NRT-HKT with the NRT-BKK segment on the 380 . And when I try to use multi-city, it shows no availability ex-NRT at all.

Pathetic.

Edited to add: BKK-HKT segment added with a one minute call with an awesome agent. How many people who don't know better are not able to book the awards they want due to this dysfunctional website?

This may well have been mentioned in the nearly 1000 previous posts, but the displaying of CPU status seems to vary wildly. I have a record that sometimes shows the blue CPU symbol

Sometimes I login and see nothing about CPU, almost like I have been removed from the CPU list like I do when I travel with my family in E.

Other times I see the upgraded segments as waitlisted.

To paraphrase Bill and Ted - "Strange things are afoot at United.com"

Yesterday I booked my first UA tickets in many many months. I got the same error message. For payment I used my M+ Visa card. On the payment screen if I selected the Visa option (from the drop-down of choices), I would get that error. However, if I selected the Mileage Plus Visa option, then the payment would go through ok. That is absurd.

Here is my other issue with the website or maybe it was an existing issue(?). My ticket was for USA-SIN-USA. The website would not display my preferred routings on the return, so I did a multi-city search. Segment 1 = USA to SIN. Segment 2 = SIN to EWR. Segment 3 = EWR to USA final destination. Segments 2 and 3 were for the same date. The website took out 3 GPUs from my account basically 1 GPU per segment. I then had to spend 33 minutes on the phone with UA to get one GPU back.

This morning, I am getting error messages almost (but not quite) every time I click on something looking at my existing reservations.

Using Back Button Advanced Reservation Search

So when I used the Advanced Search Feature, when I tried to back up and change parameters, the system inadvertently changes my passengers to ZERO, that is not even the default. Whose bright idea was that?

I'm starting to wonder about flying this airline. If they are willing to accept these standards from their reservations system, which is full of flaws, slow and cumbersome, gives erroneous answers, generally resulting in bogus charges... If they are will to accept those standards, what standards are they accepting from their pilots, mechanics and flight personnel?

Award booking does not appear to be working all that well currently either.
