It's a deliberate decision by RM that they only want to sell XN inventory on the p.s. flights to int'l connecting pax. That being said, I'm not sure why the connecting itinerary has J6 and the last segment alone is J5 unless they're blocking a seat for connections. I suppose it's possible.

A couple additional comments.
It's too difficult to move between pages. Some of the screens (notably, the reservations screen) don't offer a menu at the top that will allow you to go directly to a different page. The old website was great at this - if I was on the reservations screen, the menu at the top gave me the option to go directly to "view reservations." Now I have to go back to the home page to get the menu. Extra clicks. Extra load time. Annoying. Inefficient.
The "edit search" function is awful. Sometimes it saves my search information when I change parameters, and sometimes it does not. It's not at all predictable or logical in terms of which parameters get saved and which ones get wiped clean.
Same thing with the "back" button when looking at flight options. I never know where it's going to take me. Sometimes it takes me to the previous screen, sometimes it takes me all the way back to the beginning of the search. And wipes clean some or all of my search parameters.
And did I mention the new website is slow? Wow is it slow.

Also, annoys me that it takes 2 clicks to log into my account. The first click to open up the "M+ sign up or log in" box, then wait for the box to expand to show the "sign in" button.

+2 - the site is shockingly slow for such a "new" design. It seems as though all of the bugs in the old system are still there, we now have plenty of new ones (with workarounds yet to be developed), and did I mention, its slow?
My biggest pet peeve with the new site is my attempt to navigate with the arrow keys (yes I'm old school) is so frustrating. For example, I click on the "details" and it opens a window that falls off the bottom of my laptop screen - so I hit the down arrow - big mistake as it switches the focus to the "seats" tab and it loads the plane layout - ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A small group of people warned of bugs, loss of functionality, and the like.
The new website is a clear cut case of "be careful what you wish for".

While searching for award tickets...it shows various "green colored" dates....and when you click on those dates, there is really no "Saver premium cabin inventory". (i clicked through all 8 pages of results on several dates for various random searches).
I know other posters have already noted this bug.
I guess we have to just suck it up.

Travelbank
I have money in Travelbank that I wanted to use on a ticket, but the option wasn't there when I checked out. Instead, I got this message:
Based on your current selections, United payment types are not available.
Anybody else seeing this?

I just noticed on the advanced search page, the drop down for "Upgrade Type" lists No Upgrade, Mileage Plus Upgrade Awards and Regional Premier Upgrade. Why not GPU?
Also, I seem to be getting inconsistent results when searching for a specific fare class. For example: Searching for a W fare returns Requested fare not available while W8 is shown as available. Another example I've encountered is searching for and being offered a V fare while V0.

On that subject though, I cant seem to get it to find R space for those upgrades. It will show every flight as "not available", but if I click through to the "details" on any search in expert mode, I can see that R space. Made my TOS (time on site) probably 10x as long as normal.

But remember, a year or so ago, hordes of people in this forum were complaining about how dated the site looked and how having a prettier site was SO important.
A small group of people warned of bugs, loss of functionality, and the like.

This happened a few times to me. Sign back in at the top and then those options should show. It happened once just after logging in, so its not like it timed out. But the other time, it occured after several searches, that option disappeared. Logged back in, and it reappeared.

If it would work: I could sort by the "upgrade eligible economy fare" column by upgradable -> partially upgradable (by longest leg)->waitlisted and if it would price out W or greater fares so I could see the prices , then it would be a really useful feature.
When I see K fares being sold as upgradable in the "upgrade eligible economy fare" column for a TPAC leg I feel like the site is broken.
And why would they have spent these years upgrading their site to not sell me a fare for nearly twice as much?!?!

Prettier, no, not me. It is a business app to me -- functionality, efficiency, accuracy wins over pretty pictures/tiles/graphics every time. I would gladly have taken (still take) the pmUA site since I found it easier to get things done than the newer CO site -- or even the CO version we just lost even though I missed the ability to search an itinerary "side by side" (in/out-bound) which was hugely helpful for when I needed to be on the ground for a single meeting.

I hate how the new site prices out a multi-city trip (which I do quite often). Old site: showed the full price from the first flight and you just clicked through to see the flights. New site: each leg is priced individually and the final price is a "surprise" once you finish the whole trip. Totally garbage and very un-friendly for a business traveler.

Award calendar is so messed up. Example:
1/16/2016
NRT-SFO has NH F award
SFO-BOS has saver Y award
Old UA site would give mixed award at 110K miles. But new UA site shows no saver F when searching NRT-BOS.
Interestingly, the calendar shows green.
If we force multiple destination search,
NRT-SFO calendar is white, but you can select NH F
SFO-BOS calendar is white again, but saver Y is there. However, it's not an option. You can only select standard F.
Result: 190K miles. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
For award search, new UA site behaves like DL site.
