Just a quick question ;)

The KVStool is working with a systemcode in combination with a registrationcode.

I took the time last week to format my harddrive and installing everything from scratch after a severe systemcrash. It seems that the systemcode has changed? So as I'm correct one of my registrationcodes has become invallid after a clean installation?

I was wondering if it's not possible to get this systemcode connected to some hardware instead of the software? So when someone has a systemcrash he does not have request a new code ;)

Just a quick thought ;)

That is correct.

100-page computer science dissertation papers have been written on this precise topic, so there is really no quick answer to this "quick thought" :). Having said, the existing system works quite well, given the diversity of systems that KVS Tool users have, including restricted/locked-down corporate machines, Mac/Linux emulators, etc.

Requesting a replacement code only takes a few clicks and the amount of time and effort required is negligible, compared to re-installing the OS.

Lastly, any major changes to the current system would create a need for all of the existing members to re-register, which would outweigh any benefits gained by the improvement itself...

Just registered for the tool and have been playing around with it. Primarily was looking for an easier way to search skyteam award availability. Anyway, I am unable to pull any AF availability. I have even confirmed that AF has availability via EF and seen the availability via Delta's website. Am I missing something?

What dates?

I just plugged in IAD-CDG on some random dates to see AF availability and it's coming up fine for me.

What's your KVS Tool membership tier?

Could be an issue with the SkyTeam Awards engine. Apollo shows that there are a few C award seats available:

[KVS Availability Tool 5.1.2/Diamond - Apollo: Availability/ITN/US-MYP]

The nwa.com engine is having a lot of trouble lately making it hard to search for SkyTeam flights, especially where partners may be involved.

Yep, that appears to be the problem... didn't realize KVS used the NWA engine. Are there any plans to move it to the DL engine since NWA will be going away eventually?

I've found the DL engine to be very accurate on one way segments (but, not so good at piecing together multiple segments) for DL & NW flights as well as quite a few partners (AF and KLM for transatlantic). I threw together a scripting interface for the DL award engine that searches several (as in 35-40) segments on a regular basis (with alerts) to try and build a saver itinerary. It's sad I have to resort to that to try and find an award ticket, but it sure is a lot simpler (and quicker) than testing every leg manually!

It's not sad, it's Delta :p

Consider a program that's not in Skyteam @:-)

i cant get any AF awards for AF for march 2010 on kvs.

The exact outcome of the award booking process integration remains to be seen... Needless to say, this matter continues to be carefully monitored.

In the meantime, there will be no immediate changes, since the current NW engine continues to have a much wider coverage of SkyTeam member carriers.

This also looks like an issue with the SkyTeam awards engine -- please use the [Apollo: ITN] Method instead:
