Just spoke with US again, still no fix and no idea when it will be back up and running. Might try asking UA; getting fairly direct *A awards out of PER to North America can be difficult so really don't want to lose my existing flights (PER-SIN-HKG-YVR, HKG-SIN-PER).

If you hear any news, would be grateful for an update.

I read somewhere (FT and elsewhere) that the ability to book flights after 3/3 via partners will be down for atleast a few weeks. Ill try digging it up when I have a second.

Shifting seat map

My ORD-SFO flight tomorrow has shown as 767-300 since I booked it--and is still listed as that. But when I checked seats last night, the seat map showed as a 757-200. Then the map changed to a 767 and now it's a 757 again.

Can't get through on the phone line to check. So do I believe the type of plane or the seat map? With the plane type, my 3F seat is an aisle; but with the current seat map, it's a window. I wish the website would make up its mind!

Updating my own post here. . . .by Sunday morning I was able to check in an print my boarding pass, no problem. Traveled DEN-BWI Sunday evening with no issues. Lines at DEN appeared to be longer than usual, but lots of extra UA staff on hand. They were tired and deserve credit for toughing it out on the front lines.

By Sunday evening all of my miles had migrated over including lifetime miles, which had initially gone missing. In an era of Tweets, Fast Food and 1 hr dry cleaning, we expect everything to happen instantly. Sometimes it's just not possible.

Not the problem free weekend UA planners had hoped for, but given complexity of cutover, not as bad as it could have been.

Thanks edcho, if you could find the info that would appreciated (although throws a spanner in the works). I'd seen a notice about not being able to redeem UA upgrades from partners until ~20th, but didn't think it applied to award flights too.

A modification has been made . . . message. Some tickets, including many that have been upgraded with a Global Premier Upgrade, Regional Premier Upgrade or a Mileage Upgrade Award may display the message, A modification has been made to your itinerary. Please contact United Reservations to have your ticket reissued.

UPDATE as of 9:45a CT, March 4. If you're traveling today or tomorrow, we recommend calling us to have your reservation updated. If you're traveling in the future we're still working on a resolution for this and will keep you posted.

Shannon; Had a Y class flight automatically upgraded to F as a 1K. Got the "modification" message yesterday. Message is gone today but so are the 125% base miles for Y and the 150% PQM's! Now says I will earn 0.

Flew yesterday LAS-CLE and was able to check-in through the mobile app just fine on 3 March and had my MBP. On the way to the airport on the 4th my MBP had disappeared and the app couldn't locate my reservation with either my old/new OnePass/MileagePlus numbers or my UA or CO PNRs. Same thing with the chicken at LAS. Waited in line, took forever even though i was the only one in the 1K line but finally spoke to an agent (I know it was hectic, not complaining). After about 10min of working on it she, along with the supervisor found that I had 3 reservations for the same flight I had of course only booked one which had since been UDUd but who knows. Finally was able to get my BP and head to the gate but not really sure what happened there. Also, BP showed me in Group 2 even though I was booked in First. I'm still not sure what my status is going to be (shows 1K on the website right now) as I'm gold per my miles flown last year but requested a match through my company so not sure if that effected the grouping but wasn't a problem to board with F since I had an F ticket.

Locked out of united.com

Heading home.. ASE -SFO. Tried to check in with mobile app, no joy, couldn't pull up my reservation to view even. Went to .com, tried to log in and gave me a password error, and then locked me out after three tries (I've had the same PW for months so this was not input error). Phone line clogged so couldn't get an agent, but finally was able to check in using my MP# on the home page (i.e. not logging in). Showed me a Continental number after checking in which is interesting since I never had one and haven't received notification of a new number.

UPDATE: Used my old MP number and hit the Forgot PIN button. Successfully, changed the PIN after a challenge question, and it showed my new number. All seems in order. No miles yet for my 3/3 flight.

Hi linsj, what time is your flight departing? If youd like to PM us the time, wed like to look at this example a little closer.

Hi GlobalSTL, on united.com you can select the Advanced Search link from the home page and then use the Multiple Destinations option to create a customized routing if youre wanting to book specific flights. This includes the ability to book both United and Star Alliance operated flights. If there are any particular flights you are unable to find online, please let us know and well b be happy to look at any specific examples.

Wonder what my status is

As others have noted my online status still shows last years (1K). I received a Premier Gold card in the mail consistent with what had been shown in the preview site. The odd thing is I just checked in for a flight tomorrow and the boarding pass shows Premier Platinum, maybe it averaged the two. I had requested status match from Delta - where I am Diamond so maybe that happened although I never got a response.

Hi UA Insider,

I think there is a problem of assigning seats for direct flights. Many, including me, have reported that only seat for the first leg could be assigned. I believe I was able to get seat assignments on both legs before. Nothing works via CSR or online.

Customer service at the UC in SFO this morning isn't in a good mood. They looked tired and rundown ,refused to help me get on an earlier flight. Stellar service huh? I did not pursue further b/c I know the integration has been stressful on everyone and we're all entitled to have a bad day.

However, the woman checking in the cards said there will be no more boarding pass check-ins at UC's, cards only. Is this accurate?

Otherwise, she *did* say things were running much more smoothly at SFO today. Let's hope so!

I just went in to upgrade my notification preferences and it appears there is no longer an option to receive a text message when a CPU clears...email only. I'd like to have the text message brought back. Also, the only upgrade notification is for CPU's...not for other waitlisted upgrades (at least that's all that shows up as an option in the profile).

Please bring back text notification for CPU's and any other type of upgrade that clears.
