For me, my res was out of sync at the 96 hr mark sadly so this could have prevented EUA/CPU from clearing me. It's now in sync, I will hopefully see it clear at 72 hr mark tmw. Thankfully it is still R/RN9. I can burn a RPU but... I want to reverse engineer this thing

Not true. The new system is modeled after the CO system and runs in sweeps at 24 hour intervals from flight time. So if you are within your window and see R>0, you may be upgraded the next time the system runs (at the next 24 hr window). This is different than the PMUA upgrade system where if you saw upgrade space in your window and weren't cleared, you could call in and get it cleared. The agents who tell you they can't do anything are correct. Those who bend the rules and force upgrades are allowing people to jump the queue and possibly bypass someone higher in priority than you.

No, he said it cleared PRE March 3.

Meaning the confirmed upgrade with seats which was in NF was moved to ON, but it doesn't matter as it had cleared.

I had the same deal for an outbound flight tomorrow. No prob with check-in & BP. But this is for an already confirmed first seat.

Waitlisted ON on a 2-class might well be a black hole, in terms of the upgrade going through.

Though UA is working on a systematic solution, I called today to have a 2-class return flight that was waitlisted in ON switched to R.

The agent was awesome and fixed it in about 30 seconds.

There's a difference between acknowledging the technical challenge of an integration and successfully addressing the challenge. In a customer service business, success means providing good service. Perfection is not the standard and I think that most everyone expected to encounter some bugs. Compounding this failure is United's inability to address these unforced errors. As for my own buggered-up TATL itinerary, the website lacked functionality to correct the misassignments. How much aggravation and lost time among its elite customers is acceptable to United? I would hope the answer is "close to zero." By that standard, the integration has been a failure. Speaking for myself, I am more frustrated in the difficulty in correcting the problem than the problem itself.

As I said, correcting the problems is more frustrating than the problems themselves. And my earlier doubts about the supposed resolution were very justified. Notwithstanding the time spent with a "helpful" CSR this morning, I still have one leg of my international itinerary in E-. Another call, another long wait on hold. The newest CSR sees the problem, but cannot correct it because she says SHARES will not let her change the seat assignment on one leg of a two segment "direct flight." I had no problem pre-merger having the seats separately assigned on this itinerary. Why is it a problem now? (One segment is a 767-300 and the other a 757. I would think that seat assignments would necessarily be done separately.)

After almost an hour the verdict is "we cannot do anything right now; call back tomorrow."

Lovely, will try again. My agent was not awesome, insisted ON was fine.

On PS flights waitlisted Y-C, should we call if we are waitlisted for "Business (R)" instead of "Business (ON)"....

My 2 class SFO-HNL tomorrow was confirmed in ON but they said it was ok and no need to fix..BP printed w/o a prob.

Should I call to have the waitlisted PS segments changed?

I had the same response when querying an ON vs. R. waitlisted segment from SFO to HNL, which is a 2-class aircraft. Supervisor insisted that ON is OK, even when I explained what Shannon has said in her her Master Thread regaarding a fix to that problem.

My flight isn't for a few weeks yet, so I will wait to see whether the designation changes to R, as I understand Shannon said a fix is in the works for the ON issue.

BTW, have we confirmed whether the loss in award miles (by 9 or more per flight) was intentional or a glitch? Will they post properly?

(see your reservations for what I'm talking about)...SFo-JFK going to 2,577 miles. SFO-HNL going to 2,393.

If it's any solace, I am confirmed in ON for SFO-HNL tomorrow. But it was confirmed by UDU before the integration-but I can confirm that my seat is confirmed and the upgrade is still in existence.

Yes, the Reserved upgrades deducted twice

this is unfortunately true (and was true in the CO operation of EUA)
Notices that deductions for future reservations were deducted on both 2/25 & 3/3. I had no activity on these dates.

Not sure what this means/whether this helps, but I have a previously cleared PS segment that now shows R, not ON.

I am new here. I got an UA e certificate with e-cert number, now with the new web page on, it is asking for the PIN instead of the e-cert number, what can I do with that?

That's just the consequence of the (incorrect) integration mapping of NF (PMUA) to ON (newUA), regardless of # classes on a flight. But it doesn't really tell us if the upgrade processes that run for 2-class aircraft will look for and process ON waitlisted upgrades in addition to R. Seems like it might not be a difficult fix to patch the upgrade process vs remapping 2-class ON waitlists to R... the former seems like an offline batch process. So maybe ON waitlists will be fine... I didn't want to chance it, and the agent I got was of a similar mind, and seemed to be a wizard with SHARES.

That's good to hear! I hope things work out fo rmy waitlisted upgrade! If the "fix" that shannon is talking about doesn't appear later in the week, I will get back on the phone to the IK line, and ask them to force the R bucket for my* ticket.

I have several itineraries for later in the year that are similarly affected, but will wait to get those sorted out.

*the tickets/seats are actually for my husband and young daughter, for whom I sponsored upgrades with my GPU/RPU several weeks ago. If I end up sitting up front (which I currently am!), and they don't, I may never hear the end of it......

As it stands, they have a confirmed upgrade on the outbound, and I am waitlisted; I have confirmed upgrade on the return, but am waitlisted for the outbound.

So, evens stevens, really, but it would be good for us all to be upgraded both ways!!!

Hmm. Actually some encouraging news here atleast for PS flight.

Doing a dummy booking inquiry for SFO-JFK's tomorrow. Looking at the #'s for example UA760 tomorrow morning..

F8 ON8 O8
J3 R2 RN2

From the looks of this, it looks like "ON" is corresponding with F availability and R/RN with J. By the way, does anyone know the difference between R and RN? O and ON?
