On 3/31/2014 I purchased 5 Vanilla Reloads from CVS with a Credit Card. Two of the 5 cards had the grey scratch off on the back, but 3 of the cards had the turquoise and grey scratch off like at http://millionmilesecrets.com/2012/1...-reload-cards/. I've scratched off two of these and there is no number underneath. I have not touched the third one yet, but I fear that it is blank too. I'm not sure if I got scammed. Should I take the cards back to CVS or file a charge back with my credit card issuer?
I'm already fighting my case for one such botched purchase for 5K however, in my case for whatever reason the cards didn't activate properly even though the receipt said otherwise. Incomm "investigated" and eventually washed their hands saying not our fault, contacted CVS and after good 10 days was told that it appears there was a issue with the transaction and requested I file a CC chargeback. Not the ideal solution but I wasn't given any other choice. I'd say tell your story to the store and scratch off the final one in front of manager to see if you can replicate the problem. However, I highly doubt even in that case the manager would simply re-issue good cards ... My guess is that eventually at some point you'll have to file a chargeback or complaint of some sort. Good Luck ! |

1. It doesn't make sense that the fees CVS is paying is regional, so I don't see why they'd allow sales at some locations to continue. 2. The last sentence to me implies it will go into effect everywhere. Yes, it is sorta confusing to focus on the store only in the prior sentence, but since this was an internal memo, i doubt many English majors reviewed it for editing before it went out :) Edit to add: maybe the your store sentence is variable based on the POS system, and in this case the store will be adapted late. |

OVERVIEW: due to significant increased in credit card fees for reloadable debit cards ALL reloadable debit cards will be moving to cash only.
Also says it is by location not national... It is the real memo - not some BS memo Sorry that it isn't straight..

Wonder if my card will arrive on time
I applied for my 2nd Citi Exec MC (with $10K required spend) on Saturday either before this news broke or before I had heard about it. As of today I can still buy VR with CC in my area (Michigan). For my first Exec MC I also applied on a Saturday and received my card the following Thursday. If that timing holds true with my 2nd card, I should get it on Thursday the 3rd, so if the 4th is really the end of the line, I'd still be able to get one day's worth of easy MS in.
If not, do One Vanilla cards allow you to set a PIN? Looks like I'll be heading to Walmart more often. |

The link showed a SOLD VR. There are dozens that have sold for 40% over value.
I think something "shady" is going on. |
Three stores in Brooklyn, and all of a sudden, plenty of VRs and all cash. One was selling for plastic as recently as this morning, as of 5PM it was over.
OVs were nowhere to be seen except one store where a clerk insisted everything went cash including the gift cards. Hope, she's wrong, since she's overzealous and has been wrong before. |

ELP is still good, just did 2x $500 loads on Serve.
Some guy behind me also picked up $5000 worth of VR. I thought I was the only one in ELP. Lol |
