I loaded Serve last night at ~8PM and didn't see any memo and clerk made no mention of it.

I'll see what happens today. Got 4 on my 7 mile drive home (orange county), so we'll see what happens.

Exactly, which is why I suspect part of the biz plan for these is a rebate back to CVS from Incomm as they get paid part of the interchange when the funds are actually spent.

What makes you think Visa and others are charging interchange twice--once at the CVS check out and again at each usage of the card on which VRs are loaded?

If true , the funny thing is incomm will see its revenue tank as there must be a staggering imbalance in their sales comparing $20-$50 occasional loads of their target market and MS $5k daily loads. They'll be more profitable but I bet someone's head will roll as they massively miss their targets.

Both use incomm for processing.

I don't think Serve or PP in Incomm.

I went into another store in Houston and got the cash only virus. 1 and 1. Lucky valero is still good to go for now.

It is like one of those virus / zombie movies with the terror spreading across the nation.

The last stand will be a lonely CVS in a small mountain town somewhere in Montana.

Just picked up another $5,000 at a CVS in the foothills east of Sacramento, CA.
Now this is odd: When I swiped the card after the $5,000 rang up the register came up with the "need another form of tender" message. I have $20,000+ available credit on the card and I received no fraud alert. So I said, "Let me try another card". I did and it went through.:D

Data: Just successfully loaded 3 Serve cards x $1000 each (with CC) in West Texas. This was at 2 separate CVS locations and cashiers didn't think twice.

Woah, lotta MSers in the Houston area.

I'm not currently in town (worst possible time to leave for a cpl wks) but what is your guys alternate plan?

I've yet to come across a Valero that had some VRs. Came across a few stations that only had GCs and some more where the damn Indian/Pakistani owner at the register always says cash only :/

Since our gold mine is sunk anyway, care to share where you were buying your beans? My regulars were Dot Ave , Morrissey Blvd , 1 up in Saugus , and 1 up in Peabody. Never ran into anyone else buying though!

Data point for NYC:

Lexington & 51st: cash only (3/31)
42nd & 10th: cash only (4/1)
Columbus Circle: cash only (4/1)

Northeast Philly is done. My friend cleaned out my usual store at noon (he got 6 beans). After work I go through another 3, 2 cash only, last one was willing to try, yet denied on register before CC swipe.

On 3/31/2014 I purchased 5 Vanilla Reloads from CVS with a Credit Card. Two of the 5 cards had the grey scratch off on the back, but 3 of the cards had the turquoise and grey scratch off like at http://millionmilesecrets.com/2012/1...-reload-cards/. I've scratched off two of these and there is no number underneath. I have not touched the third one yet, but I fear that it is blank too. I'm not sure if I got scammed. Should I take the cards back to CVS or file a charge back with my credit card issuer?
