Citi fraud alert is the bomb-- told it i'd be spending 10k on the travel tool (it's for travel, but you can just select your own state). Did 5k right out of the box, then just under 1k at 3 different CVS. All in about 4 hours! Not one fraud alert! Why that spending pattern didn't still pass a fraud sniff test is beyond me, but gotta love Citibank computer logic!
I was about to go into a 5th store to buy, but since I'm just an AU on my wife's card, didn't want to push my luck having her try to explain that away without spilling the beans (literally)! :D |

You can set the PIN on OVs on the first use.

Just set any 4 numbers for your pin on first use. Oh yeah, and I kept saying on the weekend this looked regional to me, and the memo seems to confirm that. The Midwest (except Chicago) is pretty clear, according to the map.

Game over here in NYC. Tried a few stores and all of my favorite goodies were no longer available. Clerks were kinda rude about it too. Oh well.
Are there any reports on whether one vanilla cards are still available? |
I wish I knew of a way to short incomm stock. This is going to destroy them.

I wish I had known the deadline was not so critical. Hopped too diggity, the last two days. Having said that, Hurry up, Arrival! ;)
And, then I'll treat you to the mall! ^ |
We'll see.

Anyone have this sudden urge to go all out with any sort of MSing this week? I picked up my usual number of VRs without issues but I have this sudden urge to buy out all the OVs and whatever else I can get my hands on. And then just laugh. For a while. A long while.
THE END OF AN ERA. |
Used CC for beans at my local CVS. Interestingly, this same CVS told me on Sunday "we're moving to cash only"...
Not sure what this means....rogue employer? (doubtful, as she was actually the most curmudgeon-esque employee Re: beans at that location)... Why wouldn't the purchase be stopped at the cc-swipe level? |

Looks to me like they sent a customized email to the whole chain (all CVS) with the specific date for that region or store when their POS will be updated. |
Just did 4x500 in Washington, DC on top of 2X500 a few hours earlier at the same store. Store manager the second time rung me up and tried to say it had already switched to cash but I asked him to check. He took the VRs to the back and a few minutes later came out and said it would switch on 4/2 and proceeded with the transaction but not before saying he'd only sell me four and not the seven I brought up to the counter. Not sure if he's mistaken or checked an actual memo.
Plenty of VRs still on the pharmacy display where I was -- 9th and Florida NW. |

The mighty midwest still has some life. Out here in the boonies of Michigan my CVS was at full strength. Tonight I did 1K Serve, 3K VR and 1K PPMC for the trifecta. No mention of memos or cash. Business as usual. I'm hoping we are immune from the virus, yet I feel a sense of impending doom approaching.
