My CVS store in Pittsburgh told me last night that they're system is to be converted on 4/4 to cash only. I have no idea why they have a different date, they just informed me as I loaded up last night.

I see lot of people here buying PP cash cards. I havent bought more than a couple of these every month because paypal is so notorious to blocking peoples money and keeping it without reason or proper incident (citing risk concerns). years ago they stole 200$ of ebay gift cards by closing one of my accounts out of 2 (personal and premier) that i had and i never got it back

If in the military, look at your CU options on the far northeast of The Death Loop and apply over the Internet using a Chase card for the opening deposit. You might also look for the bison down the road east about a mile from the big boots. That beast sometimes takes Chase plastic for opening new accounts on the Internet.:cool:

Sad to say: Beans are dead at 1 of my 2 go-to locations in Albany, NY as of 7:15 AM. The cashier I've become friendly with even tried to ring it in for me, but when she tried to hit the "credit button" on her touch screen, it flashed up the message 'tender type not valid'. I didn't even have a chance to try to swipe my card, so I know this was not a fraud-decline.
Ah well, fun while it lasted.
Still, I do plan to try my other go-to on the way home from the office; will update with result this evening.

Went to my tried and true local CVS and bought the LAST 10 cards they had in the store. They had at least 50 the day before.

They guy I usually deal with showed me their memo and it said things were coming to an end on the 3rd.

Looks like it's not regional.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to invest that monthly $120 I've been spending on card fees.

4k, then transferred straight to checking.

No go in Toledo, Ohio. Cashier said their systems were converted to cash only this am.

Don't boycott our friends. Do as they say and bring cash in for the beans. Our government has begged us to use dollar coins and I think there is a perfect storm at CVS. Time for a Coinado!:p

Only things I can think of (possibly lower fees as compared to some other VCG options) and less gift card looking so possibly less questions from WallyWorld staff if that is one of your liquidation options. Only ever had the latter problem once at WallyWorld so not a big deal to me so far.
