Went out of town to San Mateo, CA. I was able to grab 3 x $500 VR. There were about 20 cards left on the shelf. Whoooo!

I have been having that problem at random. Dropped to 2x499 to avoid the scan. I don't care about the data track, but if their system is buggy, well, it brings back too many wal-mart kiosk flashbacks.

As dirty as I felt watching him do it, I also felt like thanking him. These are the people that make selling VRs at CVS profitable.

Had I seen that, I might have been so traumatized that I would have needed an emotional security animal on my next trip to CVS. Would then order said dog to bite him on the leg and/or pee on his iPad. ;)

I also don't want to try to get some cashier to break the rules and ring up my transactions separately. That could get him/her in trouble, and there's no reason to do that.

Grasshopper, not to understand a man's purpose does not make him confused (as Master Po used to say... :) ).

You have to learn how to play within the rules, if you want more then 1K of beans then separate transactions is the only way to go. The cashier will not get in trouble by doing it this way. If they would get in trouble they will tell you... If you have limited places to buy then do what yo have to do get what you need.. Pretty simple.

Maybe the guy thought that ID scan is @ $200 and wanted to avoid it...

Seriously, can someone think of a reasonable explanation to buy 8 x $24.95 vs 1 x $199.60 ???
Even if this guy is InComm's target customer, this transaction still does not make any sense.

May I ask... Do you use the same card or several ? Which one do you find the most rewarding at this time?
TIA

I just got my last Citi AA card for 50K miles, so I just finsihed the spend on that card. I just finished my 25K spend on my United card to get the 10K bonus miles. So I'll be using my US Airways card until I get the 25K spend on it, which will be the middle of Dec. As you can see I rotate depending on what bonus's I get, for for 2014, I'll use my United Card first until the 25K spend happens, then my US card, then I'll switch between my CSP and my Amex SPG card. But of course if I go out for more cards, I'll do the spend on them first.. But my two go to cards are are the CSP and SPG cards.

Are they separate transaction you are doing? If you do more than 500 then they will scan your ID so nothing to fear...

FN who has taken off his foil hat..

It is the best card to use since the UR points are so flexible the same with the AMEX SPG... When I was buying my Visa GC at Fry's (kropers) I was using my IHG card which was giving me 2 pts/dollar... It was a nice way to rack up points that way...

I have no idea, I spent the entire time watching him trying to figure it out. There's not a single reason I could come up with that would justify purchasing individual $24.95 reloads vs. grouping them together to save on costs.

Please don't give the CVS shoppers any ideas from the other circuses I have had to deal with. This CVS is bad enough already. It's the same location where I've seen used pregnancy test kits attempted to be returned on two different occasions, and a fist fight break out between a self described pimp and his two female "friends" in the snack isle. A few days ago a guy opened up a shampoo bottle in the store and started lathering up, no water, while continuing to shop.

It's a great change of pace to be considered the non-weird customer at a CVS.

What makes you shop in such strange neighborhoods?
I understand it's hard to choose a WM, but there are a lot of CVSs...

It's like two blocks over from my office, so convenience. And they've never had any objections to my purchases. Like I said, my wacky purchases are actually considered normal.
