It can't be system wide, the self service kiosks at the CVS near me work just fine still.

I tried to buy reloads at 2 CVS's in Philadelphia and at both locations, the max for self checkout is $250 per card. The register is fine, but there are not always cashiers. Also, anyone have any luck with Plink at CVS? If so, it makes it worth it to buy reloads in $250 amount.

I had the same issue in DC yesterday. Cashier was available so it wasnt an issue.

Two local CVS's that I have purchased at before without issues just spurned my advances. First had plenty of stock out on the display, but cashier said cash only and pointed to a big photocopy of all the prepaids/reloads behind her with the note "Cash Only".

Second one usually keeps them behind the counter, but didn't see any, so I asked. Completely out and then confirmed they were also cash only  Said the "policy" keeps changing when I mentioned that I had purchased them at that store in the past without issues.

Agg :td:

New VRs at CVS

Bought 7 VRs at SoCal CVS today, each using $200 VGCs. These are the newest cards that I have seen, with a new, MN logo on the front. And, to my surprise, the 10 digit PIN, does NOT start with 6, but with 7.

My local "University" CVS came through brightly for me today :) peeled the activation sticker off my 50k VX Mastercard and brought it with me. Tried $2500 in one trans. Nice guy told me this store could only do $1,000 in gift cards per trans. So ran 1x $500 + gum, 2x $500 + Reese's and 2x $500 + mints. On the second 2x $500, he had to call B of A, get an auth, and then have manager auth. But it all worked. Not to mention the checker (who must have also been a student or recent grad) knew about Flyertalk and BB, so we had a little miles junky connection moment.

Loaded 2x $500 VRs on my BB just now. Why the complaints? I love the new site :)

I bought $3K in VRs yesterday and $2K today with no problems. I'm done for the month.

Bought 1.5k today. Picking up more tomorrow. Website went through without a hitch. All seems to be ok in the VR world.

What is there to love about the new site? I genuinely want to know. Even if we ignore the laundry list of reasons the new site sucks compared to the old one (e.g., pages take 10x longer to load, javascript prevents you from clicking things before the page loads, confirmation page doesn't show VR PIN, etc etc...) I can't think of a single way, even a small one, in which the new site is better than the old one.

Entering the two sets of info on separate pages is, in theory, slightly more secure than how it was before.

I...guess? I mean, assuming you're getting to the site by going to vanillareload.com, the risk of getting ripped off is pretty much nil. Seems pretty lame to wreck the usability of your site in order to provide a very slight fraud deterrent.

Stupid question, is that $1000 per transaction with the fees or net? If with fees, are you guys getting $990 each time?

$1000 with fees. So I've been doing $495 load x 2 cards just to stay under $1000.

North Texas area continues to be stocked and ring up with no problems :)
