This appeared to be coded into the register and generated an on-screen message after the cashier swiped my card that another form of payment is required. Again, not the policy of the cashiers but a message on the register. I tried at the self service screen and with cashier, with other items or without and nothing worked. Two out of three of the locations were ones I had never visited before but the third was one where I had never had a problem buying with a CC. Anyone else have a sudden change recently?

Picked up beans at CVS this evening with no issues.

Do you do something in between the 2 swipes? Like replying to a fraud alert text or calling the bank?

In each case where I got the error I tried several times with same error. Did nothing differently but fourth store worked fine on first try w same card. Never happened to me before. Hopefully just a blip

Haven't been able to find any VR at the CVS on the west side of Los Angeles. Been going in intermittently for the past 2 weeks....strange.

CVS has Amex Serve and are waiving the $2.98 fee till 12/30 2013, picked up $500 today,

Reloadable, and no fee at money pass ATM's,

Loaded it with $500.00 and ready to go, no charge, with my Credit Card.

Wal-Mart wanted $5,99 for a BB Account.

My local CVS finally has VRs again. It's already the 18th of the month, but I have enough time to load BB before I go on vacation, and I'll finish the spend on my latest CC.

BB is free online.
You are unlikely to get money at ATM until you register your Serve. (BB users can't register Serve.)

Monthly fees, limited opportunities to monetize, etc. make Serve a loser for me. I'm sticking w/ MyV and BB.

Anyone know if the Serve fee waiver at CVS applies to reloads also, or does the fee waiver only apply to the initial opening (temporary) card?

Not sure if this was mentioned already but since last week any purchase of VR at the Self Check kiosk is ignored if you go over $200.00. The funny thing is that you ring the card, enter the amount and it all seems OK, but when you click Finish and Pay, it ignores the charge and finalizes the sale without the VR card.

Cashier explained to me that CVS has a new policy to limit VR at the Self Check kiosk. Maximum $200.00 or it will be ignored. Regular cash registers work fine. So I am still a happy camper in SFL

I bought one about a week ago at a Self Check kiosk. Is this just for that location or systemwide?
