On a side note, you might have to travel some to play the game.

went to the Hillcrest CVS today and the cashier said I can't use a credit card.

Bought $10k today in the mid-west. No problem.

How many gift card you can use in one CVS transaction?

I remember it is up to 8 cards per transaction. Can anyone confirm me that? Thank you.

Limit is $5,000 per transaction. So 10x$500 or 20x$250 etc.

What a bummer. Sometimes I am skeptical/concerned that I can no longer use a CC when I see a bunch of VRs.

You're talking about spending in one transaction, right? I've never noticed that there is a limit, and I definitely have used several gift cards purchased at Staples to buy other cards at CVS.

If you think the limit is eight, why not just do a couple of smaller purchases?

Found ~8 VRs hidden behind a stack of paypal load cards in north Plano (screw you whoever did that).

Took CC just fine though, no sign of any issues in the DFW area.

Went to my local CVS to purchase PayPal Cash Card.

After I swiped my CC, the register took forever to process the transaction. After a few minutes went by, the register split a weird receipt saying that the cashier needed to call for an authorization at 1800-991-9911.

Am I in some kind of trouble?

This is CVS pre auth system. The cashier calls the number, checks your cc and id and they give them a validation number to enter in the register. In my experience, if you void the transaction, it will spit out the auth message every time you try to use the same card until you get the cashier to call and authorize it

I didn't void the transaction. The cashier called and obtained authorization number. The transaction went successfully.

Tried to get 6x$500 VR today at Tyson's Corner and after swiping my CC some error message came up. Had to call up the manager who showed me the screen. Something in the order of "VRs cannot be loaded". Is this the end of VRs at CVS? They told me to come back later but I doubt the cashiers know what they are taking about.

No. System glitch. It happens occasionally.

Okay, so you're good, no need to worry about it

Issues scanning my DL at CVS today. It wouldn't connect to the database - he ended up ringing 2k worth in separate transactions.
