I'm in north county too and haven't had an issue with stock now that I know which stores replenish their stock on what days. I get $5k at once and no one bats an eye! I'm slowly getting the hang of it...

as long as you don't go over your CL, you can spend and spend and spend...

I have cycled an Ink Plus I have with a $3k limit at least 3x in a month on nothing but gc-esque activity since I got the card 5 months ago. No issues yet.

But this thread should be renamed to:

Cvs now between $1-$5k a rolling day

Well I had no problems buying $5k today like I did earlier in the week.

It seems VR had a new scratch off thing (yet again). I can't even scratch it off with my box cutter, I have to slide the knife under the sticker and peel it off like that. I liked the first generation VR's better.

do you mean 9k a month for 3 months, so 27k in 3 months.
and the max on your card is 3k.

I've been doing 5k at a time since it's faster. It's a brand new chase UA cc that I'm trying to "train". I've been using it as my primary cc which hopefully helps. I have been getting .02/mile from someone for the last 6 years and my 500k balance needs to be replenished!

subdawg - I would be surprised if that will be the case going forward given the downgrade in united awards and miles - IMHO. UR or SPG will have more value

Yeah, I've been having trouble. Either out of stock or they don't take cc's. I've been told recently though that if I stop being so lazy and drive around a bit, I'll have not trouble finding what I want.

Has anyone experienced a CVS that didn't take CCs change their policy, and start to take them?

That's exactly what he's saying. :)

Yes, and sometimes all it takes is a shift change. I had a location where I used to live that went from taking credit cards to being mostly "cash only" during this time last year. After a few months of not even stepping foot inside the store the attitudes had changed and I once again was able to buy with a cc.

One issue with the Bay Area is that there are way too many people in on the deal. The stores that take cc payments are all sold out, and the ones with VR stock are cash only.

My CVS happily takes cc but says gift card won't go thru. It was a manager that said so. :(

So, that is one strike against them... I would give them 2 more strikes and THEY are out! :)
