The problem with CVS is that the rules are not enforced by the system, but by the cash register clerks.. and they can be weird.. half known and understood rules are clubbed with false sense of power by the clerks to do whatever they wish.. Point in case:
1. Went to CVS to buy 2 VR's.. wanted them billed seperately as I wanted to use different CC's for each.. store clerk refused to do it.. said he will only bill them together.. and if i buy one and come back later for another, he will not sell it to me.. had an argument, then gave up.. then he asks for my ID and refuses to take my international license.. says only US license or state ID's will do.. just din budge.. had a HUUGGEE argument about it.. 2. Two days later, same store.. different clerk.. din bat an eyelid that I asked for the VR's to be billed seperately.. and din even ask for an ID for the CC.. just went ahead and billed them.. |
What you think is the problem, isn't the problem. Your reaction to the problem is the problem.

Went to my local CVS to purchase PayPal Cash Card.
After I swiped my CC, the register took forever to process the transaction. After a few minutes went by, the register split a weird receipt saying that the cashier needed to call for an authorization at 1800-991-9911. Am I in some kind of trouble? |

Have had similar issues. I try to go when my favorite assistant manager is there, then some of these clerks would just shut up and do what they're supposed to do; but when she's not around and I'm on an urgent need for a VR fix, they would treat me like they run the whole chain and give me all kinds of troubles.

No problems today, was able to buy 7K worth of VR's today, bought 5K in one transaction and then 2K in separate transaction I used a different CC for the 2K...

Did anyone get error at the register after clerk tried to swiped DL stating "Due to system error we are unable ... " ? I went to one store yesterday and got this error so had to walk away with one VR. Drove to CVS #2 and was able to buy 5 VRs. Today I was back at CVS #1 and CVS #2 and got this error at both stores :(

Not always true. Certain stores stock them, take CCs, and the stock lasted much longer than I expected. Reordering is erratic though. Most opportunities are in the outer burbs.

Just the same buyer I found years ago that has plenty of family that need to travel back and forth. UA is the only airline that flies from this country to the US, so they can charge outrageous prices. Cheaper for her to buy from me at .02/mile than to buy online.
