It exactly mirrors my experiences with my card. I've since had no issues with declines. |

Same experience here. Was a pain to get FIA ax up and running originally, but ever since I talked to fraud dept, have never had an issue. Nice way to offset fees by filtering in 1-2 VRs on this card periodically
I called ahead yesterday and still got a fraud check. long call got it fixed. I will have to do a few vrs everyone once in a while to prevent this now |
Has anyone had success with CVS in South Florida? I'll be down there next week to celebrate NYE, and I'll be taking my bean habit with me. I'll be right outside of Miami.

We have 24 CVS in the Fort Myers, FL area, no problems other than some untrained cashiers that think they need cash or look funny at an Amex gift card. I just tell them that Green Dot needs cash, that VR's will work with anything.
I do 2 $500 per store and 3 or 4 stores a day when out, they never do anything with my license after I whip it out at the beginning. It just sits on the counter, or they check the signature against the signed gift card. My only problems is the VR's stacking up waiting out the month for a place to load them. JudyJFLA |

JudyJFLA Any way to get this policy reversed? We all know it's NOT CVS Corporate policy. When I asked about the change, one employee lied (or was misinformed) and told me that the company making the cards (Incomm) had banned CVS from selling them using a credit or debit card. |

It looks like I have lost my neighborhood CVS store as a continuing source for VR cards. Since the beginning of December, they have refused to take either debit or credit cards for VR cards. I thought originally it was a a couple of grumpy employees, but when I came back to a new younger employee, he told me the same thing. He then pointed to three different cards (VR, Green Dot, and one more) that had CASH ONLY scrawled on them in magic marker and taped to a wall just above the cash register, so it's obviously a store policy. LOL!

If you really think this store is burned then you might want to try either a conversation with the store manager (be very polite, not demanding), or
Note the actual store number from a receipt and then call CVS customer service and ask them why this is the ONLY store won't allow Credit, which is really inconvenient as it is your nearest store, and if there is anything they can do, even if it is just to forward your request to the regional manager. I know others might disagree with this approach but this store is apparently dead already.

This is a good approach.
This is a sure way to bring this onto the radar screen of CVS management? You think they don't know? possibly killing the MS deal for everyone when all CVS locations stop accepting CCs. This is a bad (and selfish) approach. The #1 rule does not apply of MS deals is that you do not call. The #2 rule does not applyrule of MS deals is that you do not call. |
The potential issue is that the store manager will tell corp. that their fraud rate DECREASED from X to Y by going cash only for the VR cards and they have not seen any decrease in "normal" sales. The person at corp may want to make brownie points with their manager and push the fact that they could save millions of dollars by all stores requiring cash only for VR cards.
