Isn't it cheaper cost per point to Buy 10x$200 VGCs at Office Depot with Chase Ink?

$7x10 = $70 in fees for 10,000 UR Points (0.7 cents per Point cost)

This way at CVS you are paying $7x4 = $28 in fees for 2,000 Points (1.4 cents a point!)

What am I missing here?

Or are you guys people without a Chase Ink Card? Or people trying to meet a minimum Spend and not trying to MS/churn?

I buy $500 OVVGC or VVGC or PPMC at CVS for $4.95 or (PPMC) $3.95 fee with AGC.

so ≈ $20 for $2000 points ($5x4 fees)

1.0 cents a point then. Not as bad as 1.4 cents a point I assumed, but not as good as 0.7 cents a point with Office supply stores and chase ink

CVS has almost unlimited VGC supply. I don't believe you can purchase 10x $200 everyday.

I use 2 OBC and AGC to purchase ,

For OBC, each card will be cash back 504.95 X 5%=$25.25

I got $25.25-$4.95 cost=$20.30 per card. 4 X $500 VGC will cash back
$20.30 x4=$81.20 cash back after fee.

Did you ever stop to consider the fact that people may want something other than Chase UR as their return?

Did you know that Chase UR can be converted for other uses other than "cash back" which can increase the value?

Redo your math until you figure it out. And please don't explain it in the post, let the other MSrs to figure it out on their own as well.

I was cashing out AGCs bought through portals. My cost per point was less than zero after all cash back was factored in.

as others have pointed out, not everyone is into MSing for Miles or Pts. If they are then you would be correct. If they are simply into getting ca$h back then all that matters is being left over with the largest amount of $$

Dont forget some folks even in the M&P game would rather get $500s over 200s as it takes alot less time to get rid of the 500s

There are far more cards out there than Chase Ink AND inks have a CL. So depending on what a person wants cashback or points in varies. And this may be IN ADDITION TO buying $200 VGCS on Ink. I suggest you read the AGC thread if you haven't. I will say one thing though to help you understand. Most times the cashback you get from AGC purchases through portals, pays most if not all your fees. So you could get your points or cashback on your credit card at 100% return.

I never said anything about cash back. Hyatt and Amtrak are the only UR transfer partners that are of any use to me and it's pretty infrequent that I stay/travel with them. Starpoints and TYP are much more useful currencies for the way I travel.

What's the best way to redeem UR for someone who doesn't really travel much and when they do travel they use budget airlines (Spirit, Frontier) and books hotels on HotelTonight or Priceline?

Transfer to Southwest

That's hard to say. I guess statement credits? But then of course you are losing so much out of the UR. You may be interested though in looking into transferring to Hyatt. Though you may like Priceline and HotelTonight, I do too!, you may see some worthwhile deals if getting points on hotel. However, I also agree with the last poster, Southwest, is a great value as well. Probably cheaper with points than Frontier and Spirit and you get 2 free checked bags. Combine this with a SW Companion Pass and it's Gold.

I should've made it clear but my post was adding another question to your question for Rb23lb. I won't do the $200 GCs coz it takes too much time to unload and there are not many office stores close to me.
