Went to a different CVS today when buying MO's at grocery stores. Was told "new limit" of 1k. I said I thought it was 2k.. Guy said it used to be but not anymore. Couldn't tell me when it was changed. Bought 1k and used AGC. He studied the AGC for like two minutes as if he's never seen it before.

Even worse here. Had it happened 3 times: 1k limit, but just 20 minutes ago she took my AGC and placed it into some sort of card reader and said that it could not be recognized as a valid CC.

P.S. The other day I was able to get 1k plus 1k in 2 different stores with a same DL 2 hours apart.

SO and I just purchased 3x $500 VGCs each in the Pittsburgh area using an AGC with no issues. No "new $1k limit" was mentioned. Looks like another YMMV situation.

To prove your point, just went to the third CVS location and got 2k of PPMC and OVVGC.

Went last night and new clerk asked the manager if he could ring them all up at once or if he had to do them separate. She said he had to do them separate and I asked about when the policy started (because earlier in the week I had trouble buying 4 * 500 at once, but when they rang up separately it worked).

She said it's always been like that, limit is $5K a week, AML blah blah blah....Another example of an employee making up the rules as they go along.

Nothing has changed.. Did 4x$500s in NOVA tonight. Cashier had no idea what he was doing. I said you need to scan the DL and of course he scanned the wrong barcode. Does anyone have the contact at CvS to send the training fee?:D

Anybody getting error messages when trying to purchase one vanilla cards? I am here in Northern California and they told me it’s a system issue not the credit card which is true. I don’t know why but it happened to me last night and again today at two different CVS’s and I am out of my 24 hour Window since my last purchase.

I guess I am lucky that they were out of the OV's yesterday then. Forced me to get one of those Meta's with the stupid glittery present on the front.

I experienced that on Sunday in Texas. Purchase worked the next day so, try try again.

They're both Vanilla/Incomm products and it's the same system.

Just called it in and they said both cards were never activated.. even though the receipt clearly said activated and paid for at CVS.. fun times.

Yeah, I've had that happen as well. It involved faxing in information, and being mailed replacement card(s) from Incomm.

I went 2/3 at different CVSs today with single $500 transactions, first time using AGC. Everyone was such a pain. "Can't purchase GC with a GC. Watch, the system won't even let me do it... Oh... Well, next time that won't be allowed."

Where are the happy, helpful CVS employees?

I had this happen 3 weeks ago, but the process was surprisingly smooth (kind of). The first CSR I spoke with wasn't too helpful, the 2nd seemed more concerned. This was 2 days before I left the country for 2 weeks, so I wanted it handled ASAP. I ended up emailing my DL, receipt, and a copy of the card and packaging (which was probably overkill). I received an email the next day stating that the $500 was on the same card I had on hand-- and it was. Resolved in <24 hours.

I'm still not sure if this was fraud (someone putting a dud card into packaging and keeping the real card) or if the system simply made an error and didn't link the package and card numbers. I'd like to think it was just a system error, but it seems to happen to often for that to be the case.
