True - I have 4 CVSs with 4 different policies on VGCs, for example - $1,000, $2,000, $5,000 and cash only.

Or....people could go to their local CVS and try it out for themselves. Posting a receipt doesn't mean that anyone else will have the same success.

The last time when I bought them at each store, I paid with CC without any problem. If they restock on Wednesdays, it was not the case because all CVSs around didn't have any since last Sunday.

I can't figure out how to post a photo, but if someone provides instructions I will. Unless there is a reason not to?

I know some folks are going to hit me hard for “spoon-feeding” but let me help….please. This is not the only method to post images, but is the one I use. I am using google photos as an example.
1. Scan your receipt and save it as an image file (GIF or JPG)
2. Log in to google photos and upload your image file
3. Right click on the image file and click “copy image location”
4. In your FT forum, prepare your post and click on insert image icon. A small window will pop-up. Paste your link into that window.

That's more complicated than it needs to be. Take a picture with your phone. Upload it to imgur. Copy the BB Code and paste it in a new post.

Pls don't post picture. If there's non-believers, no need to provide proof--better for those of us who can make it happen. It takes time and effort to learn the game and find out what works and what doesn't. Let those who don't believe it works stick to their beliefs.

It isn't hard coded. AMEX and Visa credit both went through without any issues. If you don't want to believe me, that is fine.

Don't feed the trolls, we are here to share info, not to prove/disprove anything.

I'm finding the same thing. The register prompts the clerk that it's cash only, but if their willing to push it through, it does go through.

Who can push it through? Do they need to call a manager?

Your warning came too late, it's already on a certain infamous blog, illustrated with circles and arrows. :p

Yes of course it's hard-coded. Please don't bother trying to buy any. ;)

Problems with AGC at CVS in Florida

I was visiting Florida last weekend (I live in Ohio) and tried to buy an OV at CVS in Orlando using my AGC (without name). I've done this a million times in Ohio. The clerk who's "worked here for 5 years" and the called-upon manager who's "been here for 8 years" has never seen anyone buy a GC with a GC. I said, please run it as a credit. They refused - "It's CVS policy." Ugh, fine.. I'll just go to the next CVS.

The next day, I'm in Jacksonville, FL and I try the same thing.... and I get the same schpeel - no GCs with a GC.

Oh, and another thing - they both asked for ID after only $500 on the first card. What happened to the $1000 mark?

Has the game changed overnight on me, or is this just Florida?

I've successfully bought VGCs with an AGC at CVS in Orlando. Though I've only done it a few times and unfortunately I can't remember if I did it with a personalized AGC or not... But I have my neighborhood CVS where they all know me and know what I'm doing with 8 VGCs at once.
