Good question. We should start a thread on that.

Don't think there will be any traffic as it's a very esoteric question.

What is CVS policy on using American Express Gift Cards to purchase another gift card

Today I was attempting to churn my AEGCs that I have and my results varied by location. I can tell on the clerks who did accept my AEGC had a look on their face as unsure but still processed the purchase as credit. Others flat out said "cash only" which I happily said no thank you. Then my last stopped was really irritating, the clerk was processing the purchase when he said "oh wait this says prepaid" and called his manager who bluntly said no I cannot purchase a gift card with another gift card. My question is this policy or is this something each store decides on?

Yes.

Each store, and/or each cashier.

CVS/OV

if you have trouble finding OV cards, check the other GC display facing the pharmacy. Most CVS have 2 GC displays. Also they sometimes are hanging by the front cahiers on the side by registers.

Anyone seen a restocking of OV's in their area? My local supply of 5-6 CVS' are drying up rapidly.

Yesterday I encountered a hard coded $1k/transaction limit while buying PPMCs. My cashier was stumped, and the cashier next to her said that it had been in place since the beginning of the year along with a per day limit of $2.5k (both of which were in fact not in place at this location as recently as a month ago).

Anyone heard about new limits? Reason to think this is PPMC specific? Can individual stores hard code their policies if they are more restrictive than the general policy?
