the smartest thing you could have done was to NOT have purchased anything at this store at that time. and gone somewhere else. or come back another time when they werent working.

seven-up, hang onto that AGC after you've liquidated it. I think there's a slim chance that you will get a windfall on this, in the form of an automatic refund of the original purchases (in addition to the manual refund).

stop blaming the victim.
In the VR days one my of 5K transaction (one go) was flagged too due to ID mismatch. Had to eventually file chargeback (as suggested by CVS, incomm as expected was useless) and got my money back after a good 6 weeks. CVS did the f'up so I am not going to take a 5k loss just for nothing. I sure hope he gets his money back. As for the ones .....ing, get a life. |
both of you stop acting stupid, no one is blaming the 'victim' ... merely offering better advice if he's in that situation again. so stop getting your panties in a bunch.

Amen. Some very clueless people continue to blather away about what they know not. Yet are dead certain they are right

What would you do...just accept that several thousand dollars was taken and is now gone and chalk it up to a life experience or contact the store? I would contact the store, get my money, and understand that I can't use that chain any longer.
I'm not blaming the OP for trying to get $3k back, ofcourse I would do the same. The problem is getting to that point in the first place. |
CVS is cash only for all GCs now correct? Or is that just for beans?
|
Unless something has changed, it's cash only for just VR and a variety of other reload cards.
|
So I could get the Vanilla GCs (not the Vanilla reloads, but the ones with a PIN)?
I ask because I recall often seeing just those and not the reloads back when that was a thing. Thinking of doing Vanilla GC + MO @ K's to MS for the Barclay |

CVS
well I never buy VGC at CVs. It's labeled all over "Gift card" Good luck using as debit for MO if a clerk actually looks at it. AP is limited to 1K. Another avenue ruined. But this discussion should be a warning to all, don't buy more then 2 Ov/VGc at one time. There is always tomorrow. And if a problem arises, which I feel bad about, you are only out 1k.

Boy, I sure "lucked out" in discovering a legacy store. Went into a CVS but it's CC machine still bills as Revco. Going to have to chalk up this $5049.50 to 1% rather than call in :(
