[QUOTE=Lobachevsky;21651779]I'm talking about the way the DL scan is handled. It's supposed to restrict a buyer to $5K per day maximum in GC purchases; /QUOTE]

Grasshopper, the reason for the DL scan is per corp policy, plain and simple. NOW, when it comes to the 1K or 5K limit why worry about it, there are ways around it just like have I do it and how others have explained it to you. Many of use have bought more then 5K in one day, so why do you need to start with this data point crap... Just do each transaction separately and you want have a problem since they wont scan your DL for a $503.95 purchase. The most I have bought in one day is 9K and this was from 4 different stores (I didn't want to be selfish) and did each transaction separately.

Tried to purchase some beans today and got the system down message when they tried to scan my ID. I was able to purchase the beans individually and they were activated without any problem. Has anyone else had the system down issue today with ID scans?

Yes. Happened yesterday. I tried to buy $2,500. Cancelled the sale and purchased them in separate transactions and went through fine.

Of course you can buy <$1K at each store and not be concerned with the limit. But I'm in a small town and there are only 3 CVS stores within 25 miles of me. I don't have the option of visiting ten stores per day--and I don't want to spend the time and gas driving around to several stores per day.

I also don't want to try to get some cashier to break the rules and ring up my transactions separately. That could get him/her in trouble, and there's no reason to do that.

Grasshopper, not to understand a man's purpose does not make him confused (as Master Po used to say... :) ).

BofA hit me with a fraud alert at the Beanery today. I only bought 500 on that card. They aggravate nearly to the point of not wanting to use them. Props to banks that don't hit me with the alert or that have a quick and easy way to resolve it.

when I use my CSP cards, I'll get a text right away on fruad alert, Citi will send a text the following day about it... Even thought I call in and get it taken care of.

I have been nervous about using my CSP, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to use them a little bit here and there.

My purchases hanged after the 2nd card and ID scan. Cashier scanned my ID again and it went through after a long pause. Never had the system hang on me like that before...

Now, I have been able to do this in multi cities across the US..

May I ask... Do you use the same card or several ? Which one do you find the most rewarding at this time?
TIA
