You're not the only one. I had a douchey manager flat out refuse to sell to me. Says he was "concerned the funds wouldn't be there once my card is load and Im gone." This is with CC. It was so stupid I count even retort. He was making the whole thing up but he got mad because I wasn't being chatty with him on why I would want to buy a $500 GC in the first place. Amazing... questioning why someone would want to buy something they are selling.
I will do him in but later. I want to clear out all the stores before I have the sway team descend upon his store. |

Walgreens: Nationwide lockout on CC sales. 7/11: Clerks generally say you can't use CCs, but I push back and some clerks agree to take them. |
just spent $5,039.50 in one transaction at a CVS in Los Angeles...

And, I always understood that any merchants can deny you buying any times from their store if they really wish at any point in time. And, if they really wish, you are not allowed to enter their store. It's within their rights. It's probably a way to lose customers by word of mouth or with social media...but if they really wish. |

I tried to do that today with HIGCs and it wouldnt let the cashier ring up more than 2 per. I thought the rollout wasnt supposed to go down for another week. Good to see its ah working though. I'll use this pic as proof it can be done. :) Still Vagrants is right... That kinda spend at a pharmacy is sure to cause a nuclear melt down if using a regualr CC. Now if you are using GCs then this is a dream come true! |

A clerk at my store confirmed the same. Once you go over $500 on GC/VR, they will swipe/scan your license. But the daily limit is now 5K.

Bought a $500 VR, $100 HIGC and some random stuff all in one transaction at a Bay Area CVS late last night. Transaction went through without a hitch, no ID check.

It's usually >$1K..buy 2 VRs and you'll get the ID check. |
Why do they require to swipe ID? Are they going to report the purchase somewhere?
