Wait... how did you get around the $2k limit?

PP/CCW/DL/SSN/Green Card/Student ID

Bring your SO/Friend/Child/Parent with you with some of the above.

Get creative. :)

I just used my extracarecard while buying 2k in VGC. Apparently I had like 20+bucks in rewards dollars or something and my receipt read as 1999.80

.....feels like I just got paid for sex! Oh yeah

Paying VGC Fee

I have been buying $500 vgcs with Amex $1000 GCs. I pay the $4.95 fees with no special cc as I do not have one that has a drugstore bonus. Is there a better strategy?

What do you mean "some"? They're all hard-coded to scan/swipe DL, cashiers always match the name on the CC with DL (although they greet me by name already when I enter the store) and then punch in the last 4 of the CC before activating anything.

I get nervous when the POS terminal says "MS" while processing my OBC payment. Makes me think these guys know exactly what I'm doing there :D

All my CVS accept AGC. YMMV

I tried my passport earlier today. The barcode wouldn't scan and the numbers shevwas entering wouldn't work. So I waied a few hours and got more cards with my DL later in the day.

I would say try the passport again 24 hours after your last attempt. She might of of did it incorrectly. They select manual entry (or something similar) on the screen , then passport and type in the passport #. Why did you wait a few hours to use your driver's license ? Same cvs I assume

can i ask why you guys are using AGC to purchase these reloads instead of a CC that earns 5x category points/5% cashback at CVS?

Edit: nevermind. I read like 5 pages and I've seen the light.

apply for card with 5% bonus for drugstores/grocery stores purchases.
OR
if you're paying with AGCs, make sure to buy them at portals giving the highest CB (this fluctuates so you have to keep on checking). in effect you get the portal CB + whatever rewards your CC gives you.

I am using Top Cashback at 2.25%, although yet to see any $. They are working on my claims now. There are no credit cards that give 5% on drugstores any more. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing some perk. Thanks for the response.

I'm still getting 5% RD from am3x 0BC for all my drugstores purchases. Even if you apply now with the capped version, you'll still get 5% bonus for drugstores and grocery stores purchases up to $50K/anniv year.

How do I get 5% at drugstores? The 0 fee Blue Card site only offers 3% at supermarkets. No mention of drugstores.

go to Old Am3x Blue thread (2015) and read wiki carefully where the link for the 0BC is shared.

the blue cash card you're seeing is for Blue cash everyday which offers 3% RD on qualified grocery stores purchases up to $6K, no AF. The other one is Blue cash preferred, 6% RD up to $6K, with AF $75.

None of those CVSs I went accept AGCs no matter if AGCs are personalized or not.

On the contrary, all Wally and RiteAids in my area accepts AGCs with or w/o personalized. They don't even look at what card I used.

All WGs in my area are cash only. Some WGs even have a sign of "All Gift Cards are cash only" in the gift card booth.

I have never had a problem using CC as any CVS or WG.
