I've had this problem before with an older license with a bad magstripe, did the system problem happen right after DL swipe, or during finalization of the sale?

Right after the DL swipe. I never even got to CC swipe. Also, my DL expires in a couple of months so I've had it awhile so you could very well be right about the magstripe.

Yep, I'm 90% sure that's what got you. It seems to be dependant on the specific CVS, because I could do the same thing, go to buy at another location and it works. My DL refused to swipe at the one location that is within walking distance from work, where they are happy to sell me 2k split with whatever payment methods the register will accept.

In the meantime, you can try two things: Grocery bag over magstripe trick, or convincing them to type in the license number instead of swipe it.

It was worth the small fee for me to immediately get a new license, and the new license works perfectly.

I was also able to purchase VGCs later on at another store. Maybe it was my license or an actual system issue - it just seemed weird how the clerk's tone changed.

Someone cleared out the OV at my go-to-cvs ! :( time to visit other ones.

Any successfully purchased and activated OV's today at CVS? RB thread mentioned "pending 24 hours" which usually means you need to call in to get it fixed.

I bought two OVs today at CVS around 1:30pm edt. No issues purchasing or activating. Haven't unloaded yet, due to today's issues, but they said activated on receipt.

I also had to get a new drivers license for cvs purchases. I keep it in my folder instead of my wallet so it doesn't get screwed up.

Isn't CVS max $2000?

New to MS here. There's a CVS by me where the OV cards are plentiful and can be purchases with a cc. I'm late but I read that a lot of CVS do not accept cc as a payment. I'm assuming it's not for every store?

Some CVS do not accept AGC.

I have never had a problem using CC as any CVS or WG.
