If name/DOB/(possibly address) match, it counts as the same. Your passport does not have a permanently written address on it, unlike a DL. I haven't had to give DOB for Passport on manual entry, will let you know later today.

Edit: biz as usual

Does the cashier completely type your passport info each time?

So if I want to use a passport and driver's license to spend more than $2,000 I would need them to be in different names?

No to the last two posts.

AGC -> VGC working?

Anyone recently try buying OV/VGC with AGC? I know there's not many people going this route anymore, but I bought a few $500 AGC for a gas promo and tried buying a $495 OV at CVS today. Swiped the AGC and put in as credit, employee scanned my ID, put in the last 4 of the AGC, and got an alternate tender required message. Tried 3 times in total before I left.

Are some/all CVS registers now hardcoded not to accept AGC for VGC purchases? Anyone know of any supermarket/drugstore chains in the New Englad area that aren't hardcoded to reject AGC for VGC?

I can spend them down without much issue, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone else has run into this recently.

When did you buy your AGCs before you tried to use them? If it's like OfficeDepot/OfficeMax, they take some hours (maybe up to 24) to fully activate.

Bought them only about an hour beforehand, but assumed it was good to go, as it was activated when I checked online. I'll give it another try tomorrow I guess. Thanks for the response.

YMMV.

Local ODs are cash only.

And, by the way, welcome to FlyerTalk!

All OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, and Staples stores are hard coded to only accept cash for variable amount Visa gift cards as well as MasterCard (since everyone ignores those) gift cards, and I believe the same is true for PayPal My Cash cards. Fixed amount cards can be purchased with credit.

Did you have any success? I tried today and got the tender not allowed and selected CC. I also tried within an hour of purchasing. I'll try again tomorrow.

Was able to purchase a $494 VGC (closest CVS doesn't carry OVs) today running the AGC I bought yesterday. Looks like it's best to give it 24 hours before trying to use them at drug stores.

All AGCs are usually good for use 4 hours after at the time of purchase.

Yeah, cashier just moved to the next register over and it was fine.

The only other person who MS at my favorite CVS has started telling the cashiers she's making 10% when buying VGCs. ugh, don't like that kind of attention.
