Not sure what you mean by "not go through". If you mean not scanning, my DL never scans properly anymore. The cashier always has to manually key in my info. No problem.

If you mean some sort of data transfer lag, that sounds like their connection being crappy.

if I go to another cvs that I dont frequent and use my passport for my ID, will the system see me as a different person so I can "bypass" the $2k daily limit?

Can someone point me in the direction of the current accepted "best" way to do manufactured spending through a CVS? I'm new to this and trying to hit my AAdvantage spending intro.

Every CVS I have been to takes "cash-only" for money orders.

I'm kind of a newbie, but I got target for the 2x miles/$ on the Barclay Aviator card...Do you think it'd be worth buying the GCs from CVS to MS instead of Simon Mall where I normally go? I know each person values miles differently, but still...any advice?

Unless your CVS is unique, you're only going to find Vanilla branded Visa (or MasterCard) gift cards. Those can't be used with Serve at Walmart for transactions over $49.99, but you can use them at a Family Dollar.

Is the target offer for pharmacies? Also do you have a way to unload Vanilla. That's up to you to figure out. If yes to both questions than yes go to CVS.

Weird thing happened to me this morning.

Bought 2k at 5:29 pm on Sunday with my DL.
Bought 2k at 5:28 pm yesterday with my passport -- the fact that this transaction went through means system doesn't link my DL to passport because it's still before 24 hours by 1 minute.

Tried to buy 2k this morning with my DL. System gave the error message about daily limit.....

Perhaps I can try again later this afternoon? Anybody experienced something similar?

Bought 2k yesterday, no ID scan required. My regular cashier even joked that we could probably get away with 10k if he didn't care about his job!

I haven't had any problems, business as usual, still having to scan ID on all my purchases.

Today I went to 2 CSVs, both scan my ID card and then pop up a windows said system issue. I was not able to complete my purchase though. The cashier tried to load $20, it succeeded! So this issue must be applied on purpose for $500 GCs.

$20 GCs do not require ID scans. Therefore, it appears that it's a system issue with the ID scan system. Has nothing to do with the amount of the GC other than triggering the ID scan.
