Sarcasm detected in your quoted post

I'm currently using my BA Visa (to hit the 100k) then switching over to my PRG for the 30k spending threshold bonus.

What do you guys use to purchase? Any cards out there with category bonuses for CVS?

I think there's an internal memo at every CVS system-wide. You just have to politely ask the cashier to try it anyway. Has gone through with me every time I have convinced the cashier to try anyway...

Welp, tried my CC at another CVS. Worked ( I tend to only buy 500 in one day anyways). Today, tried that local CVS and another worker didn't even really say anything about using a CC. Just wondering if I got points.

:confused:Why isn't there any consistency... Oh well. Glad it worked lol.

Bought 3k at lunch today. From the manager. Not even a blink - just a few hellos, asking about the kids, etc.

I’m new to the game and went to my CVS in a Chicago burb. I asked to load 2 vanilla’s for $500 each and the employee told me he’d do 1 at $500, then the other at $499 so we didn’t have to deal with the ID. I then asked if there was a daily limit and he told me $5K. I asked if they sold a lot and he said “a ton. Mostly to Asian people that send them overseas and also to small business owners.” Needless to say, I’ll be keeping my eye peeled for this cashier.

bought another 5k worth....go MVD :D

the cash registers are now locking up after the 1st $500 VR
at two different CVSs

last week i bought 2k in 1 transaction at the same CVS
ehhh

Another weird point is the Chase CSR mentioned "gift cards" during the fraud protection call... I guess she assumed from the amt of the transaction at CVS, or VR only transactions are being identified some how.

I'm testing the water with my first foray into MS- went to my local store and was able to purchase $1K in VR but had my ID scanned. Besides limiting how much amount able to be purchased, are there any other negative implications to the ID scan?

Nobody knows for sure. If you read back through the thread you will see lots of opinions since they began scanning IDs. All the way from not worrying at all to worries about ID theft, IRS, black helicopters, and so on.

I think it is based on the transaction amount. I've got the same questions from Chase and AMEX about "are these gift cards." It's a logical guess from the amounts.

What did you reply to those questions? Would it be honest a good approach?
