No problems here, business as usual.

Fortunately I got plenty Rite Aid around me and purchased VGCs for $1500 with ease. Hope this is just a regional system glitch. If I plan to push the limit, I'll come back to CVS and try again. May I ask where do you use the MOs? I'm afraid of depositing too many MOs will raise attention in my bank. I'm using Wells Fargo and Region. Do you think I should have more checking account to decentralize the flow? I only know I should stay away from Chase on any aspects with cash.

Bought 2k at 5:29 pm on Sunday with my DL.
Bought 2k at 5:28 pm yesterday with my passport -- the fact that this transaction went through means system doesn't link my DL to passport because it's still before 24 hours by 1 minute.

Tried to buy 2k this morning with my DL. System gave the error message about daily limit.....

Perhaps I can try again later this afternoon? Anybody experienced something similar?

Happened to me a few weeks ago. One morning I bought 2k at store 1 using my license. The next night I used my passport at store 2. Following morning I tried to use my license at store 1 and got the daily limit message. I don't know if it was a problem with store one's system or it was updated to merge passport/license data by name and birthdate. The latter seems unlikely though.

My rule of thumb is if you feel reasonably uncomfortable with something, don't do it. That said, I always start slow and ramp up. I haven't done more than 30k/month through one bank or credit union. Others have done much more, others have been shut down for much less.

I normally dont do in-store MS. This Said, Im staying in a hotel next door to a shiny CVS. Whats the easiest fool-proof score? Anything 1 stop, where i wont have to go anywhere else? Looking to Bar-hop, not store-hop TONIGHT, LOL....got A Bunch of New Amex's in my pocket, All with Juicy Sign-On Bonuses waiting to be plucked...

Yo, Jim Becks.

It depends on what else you already have, but probably PayPal My Cash would be the most one stop option. Pick up a couple of cards and scratch them off later. If you have a PPBDC and a Serve or BlueBird account, you can unload the funds online.

I have A Serve Card. Wife has 1 VIP Serve. I dont have PPBDC but i assume i could easily get 1. So I'll go get A Few PPMC Cards, for giggles, and see if i can easily unload. If so, whopee! Gracias!

Jim, be careful with PPMC, even though it's probably the easiest one-stop no-fuss option for you at the CVS, since they do take credit cards for PPMC purchases. Suggestions:

1) Try to unload the cards into your PP account as soon as you can. There have been reports of people discovering their funds have been drained after letting the cards sit for weeks or months (it's just a ten digit number for your PIN, I take it that is easily guessable by the bad hacker types). You can only unload US$500 daily, with US$4K max per month.

2) You can get shut down by loading too much (or only) Serve, or unloading it too fast. The mere fact that you used PPMC to load funds, already might be a flag. Try unloading real slowly: let the balance sit for a while then gradually unload. Buy stuff from PayPal if you can. If you can get the PPBDMC, use it for signature purchases and get the 1% cashback. In my opinion, doing these things makes you look more like a legitimate PayPal spender and probably decreases your suspicion profile (just a guess--no hard proof).

3) Don't ever, EVER transfer your PayPal funds back to your bank with ACH once you load with PPMC. That's a request for a shutdown.

Good luck!

Did anybody have a problem purchasing OV in the last 2 weeks? My go-to cvs have some kind of problem- when cashier swipes my Id it gives her a message- system error prevents to sell or something like that. I've been lucky only store manager was at register. After it failed again, I went to another cvs and purchased cards without a problem. I don't want to believe that it might be some kind of blacklist in my store.

Your magstripe is likely damaged, this happened to me and the swiping wouldn't work at my closest store. See if you can get them to scan (if your state has a barcode on the back) and if not, good luck at the DMV if you want to use that store without manual entry...

No issue on my end.

interesting. But I'm almost positive, that in other store my ID was swiped and it worked. I'll try again today and see if it can be scanned (my DL has a barcode).

When my DL had the bad stripe, it was only one store too, but it was the most convenient store to me. It was worth the wait at the DMV to be able to use the license easily at that store, as this specific store doesn't like manual entry for some weird reason. New DL has the exact same info as the old and it worked fine.

I think the passport and DL now count as the same in their system.

Last night at 5pm I used my passport for the first time as my ID at the store. The cashier selected manual entry, imputed my passport # and exp. date, name, address, DOB and things went through just fine.

Today at 11am, I went to a different store and attempted to use my DL and got the daily limit message.

I'm going to attempt to use an expired DL with a different address as someone previously stated having worked or maybe try to use an expired military ID. I doubt those options will work though

If name/DOB/(possibly address) match, it counts as the same. Your passport does not have a permanently written address on it, unlike a DL. I haven't had to give DOB for Passport on manual entry, will let you know later today.

Edit: biz as usual
