Wow, people really do hide VR cards. Not cool. I never bother hiding them; i just figure, if it's available, it's available. if not, if not. Whatever.

Stopped by a CVS and was disappointed none was available, especially it seems like a number of stores were recently restocked. But then I saw a $5 extracare promo and started looking at that when i noticed one of the stacks is different. Turns out someone put a handful way back in the back of that stack. I didn't take all of them (just 2) but my, I wish people would stop hiding them. Very annoying. First time I've encountered it.

MS reminds me of what my dad used to tell me about how much money you make: there's always someone who make less, and always someone who makes more.

I already hit the $120K annual spend threshold for two of my Amex Delta Reserve cards - the 30+30K MQMs have already posted to my Delta account. But there's always someone who's doing more. And it's not like I haven't gotten burned along the way. I'm currently waiting for refund checks of over $7500 for shut down accounts. In fairness, though, I've been at MS for a few years, and I've never been shut down until a few weeks ago. So I can't really complain about my money being held hostage. Wait...yes I can!

So as always...only do what you're comfortable with, and only commit money that you can afford to be without while it sits in the Prepaid Inquisition Jailhouse. :)

Does anyone else get a slight feeling of joy when they purchase the last VRs at a store?

No, because I always seem to be the guy after you who finds the empty rack where the VRs were. :D

any luck buying VRs with different cards at once @ CVS?

Has anybody ever tried/had any luck buying VRs at CVS with more than one card? If the CVS allows you to do up to $5k a day, in $1k transactions, would it be suspicious to buy $1k on one card and another $1k on another? My thought would be yes, but just wondering if anybody has attempted this.

I've done it- it is called splitting the tender. I don't think it is suspicious. You just have to find a cashier that knows how to do it.

Yup. Cashiers or managers that don't want to bother with it will say "nope, only 1 card can be used".

Just a matter of finding the cashiers that are knowledgeable and ok with it.

5 separate 1k transaction would look weird though...

I have always bought with more than one card. I've done $1,000/ea on 2 cards and $500/each on 5 cards. I always make sure there isn't a line behind me so as not to be rude.

I usually don't even have them split tenders (fear of something going wrong), but I just ask them to do sets of two VR's at a time. Never an issue.
