OMG, please don't do this. It's bad enough that people hide them already.

I was chatting with a couple managers and they said they know when they're low on VRs and are aware people are taking unactivated VRs home with them.

These particular two managers have said when they encounter that, they ask where the customer got the VR...

Yes, people have done this. It also happens to be a crime and a jerk-y thing to do. Not recommended.

How hard would it be to purchase unactivated VRs from a CVS or Vanilla Reload itself?

Alright one of my cvs just restocked during the past two days. One stack was already cleared out but there was still another stack and a half left. Snagged 4 at $500 each. First time I've ever got to buy more than one.

CVS now $1k/day?
 

The card stock is registered to a specific store when delivered, was told by manager here. Some stores get and some don't and that depends on supply and demand. I guess lower class neighborhoods are expected to be restocked more often than say Beverly Hills?

But I did not ask what would happen if another store's card is presented for activation upon purchase. I guess we have an OK stock here.

Talked to a good friend in N. VA. Happens to work at a CVS while in college... Said if I was still out that way she'd sell me vanilla beans.

The Beanery near my house had a zealot for a cashier. I went to buy 2k worth, and she stated that there was a 1k a day limit that the manager issued around Christmas. I had some questions for her, since I had bought 2.5k at the same store earlier this week. It was a cashier I'd never seen before. She seemed eager to get to the register to check me out, although there was a another lady that greeted me when I walked in that was closer. I asked a few questions, and specifically stated that I wasn't trying to be argumentative. She did seem miffed that I was explaining the 5k policy, but I stopped short of creating a scene. I asked pointed questions to determine if the policy was applicable to just that store, or if it was a district wide change. I left with my 1k and went to the Beanery near my job that mentioned they were happy to sell me 5k.

I'll keep going into the store near my house so that they can get to know me. I honestly go to the one near my job much more frequently.

I stopped by a CVS near a place where I had a job interview the other day. Was surprised to see VRs in stock (I reckon I've been to about 10, and have only seen them in person at one, which took cash only). I took one to the register, and when the cashier asked if I had cash, I asked if I can pay with credit. She asked me for my id, and just looked at it (no scanning). I went to get another one, and she told me it was only 1/person. My first card didn't go through (flagged for fraud), but my second one did. I went back today to get some more, and they were all gone!

Is there a way around the $5k 24 hrs limit? Bought total of 5k yesterday around 7pm with my own card and my wife's card where I am an authorized user. Got daily 5k limit reached print out when buying a $1k today at 5pm. I thought it was daily limit and not 24 hrs limit.

You can keep buying in smaller dollar amounts to avoid license scan

Yes just buy 2 that total less that 1k. That way they won't scan the ID and you won't be in the system as already having purchased the limit.
