i guess i'll poke around with a few CVS today. This is the first time i don't see the VR not on teh shelf. usually there is plenty the past several months ( ever since i started this part of my hobby). there's one near my work so i'l hit that one up first and see if i can find it there. last time i went to that specific store i couldn't find any...wish me luck :D

Be sure to ask if you can't find any, because some stores keep them behind the counter.

I am relatively new, so I have been exploring. I have visited 3 local CVS stores. All have VR in stock. Oddly, at the third one I grabbed a couple from the bottom rack and they were the old style, with the plain silver strip that says "scratch for PIN". Any security concerns with the old ones? I grabbed the new style ones instead.

I've used both recently, no problems.

Found a small stack at my local CVS. I took 4 of them and am going under the assumption that's the last time I'll see them available for a while.

They have been popping up everywhere around me. I grabbed one on accident at first and thought it was a fraud once I left the store so I hurried home but no problems. Since then I keep seeing a mix of them at various stores.

My go to CVS stores that have always had tons of VRs the last year suddenly have none. Either they pulled them or more people around me are stepping up their game.

one CVS near me has a big printout near their checkout counters saying that they limit their customers to 1000 VRs (or other prepaid reloads). I was able to get around this limit by going at a different time (once early in the morning and once late in the night). One nice thing about having this limit is that the VRs don't run out very quickly. Even when all other CVS stores are out of VRs, I can go to this store and pick up a few

I immediately was connected to the fraud department. I was asked some questions, and was asked to try the transaction again. It went through. After that, no more fraud alerts when buying VRs.

Hopefully, you'll be "training" your Citi card when buying these VRs so that it knows to go through. Keep a cool head. Enjoy VRing!

I can confirm I've received the "use alternative form of payment" message 10-15x with Citi or Chase-branded cards. It's just a general fraud alert. Today I kept Citi on the line as I spent $4k LOL

My local CVS stores all have run dry. But it is early in the month, so I'm still hoping.

How do we tell CVS that we'd like them to set up an automated email system to notify us of when they are restocking? Or maybe they could set up a webcam that broadcasts a view of the gift card area?

Has anyone ever tried to grab a stack at a CVS where they're in stock bc they won't sell on CC, and taken them to one that will?

I agree! These will make VRs available to more people. Hope more CVS stores will take this approach.
