I'm in the city on the weekends as my gf lives there, but I'm told all the CVS are out of VRs or don't take CCs by my friends up there, so I never bother to try up there.

Perhaps CVS in marin? dont want to pay $6 to cross a bridge to buy cards though..

Discovery Bay, tons upon tons of VR and CC friendly. Just too damn far out of the way...

From what I can tell, CVS restocks weekly. The places I go to always seem to restock VRs once per week. If you aren't finding any, I think you are just seeing them disappear fast in the high competition areas. For example, if you know the CVS on North 1st St in San JOse, they run out so fast. I think it is because it is very close to a lot of people at nearby companies who can easily hit it up. If possible, try changing up the days/times you check your location and I bet you find them.

A lot of times I just find them hidden around the store. If you want to go through the effort, you can search around the store trying to find them. Hopefully the stores will start keeping them behind the counter, as I know they find it annoying that they are hidden throughout the store also. One time I was at CVS in Cupertino and the store clerk told me to check a few spots they have found them hidden at before.

I find myself having to lecture CVS employees to let me use a CC to buy gift cards.

Which CVS stores do you go to and have you found any that let you use CC?

Local Wal-Greens refused to allow me to buy more than one $500 load w/cc.

Same here, although the rule is sporadically enforced. Certainly makes them useless when compared to CVS anyways.

I work across the street from that one. Ok, thanks for the tip.

I found one today on the way back from the city today and they only let me buy $500. Upon scanning my DL for the 2nd one, it said it could not sell the other VRs. I was trying to buy 4 :(

CVS Gift Card

What are people's experiences using a CVS GC to purchase VRs? Can you do it? For the fee only?

No, you can't use a CVS gift card to buy VRs.

Back when you could buy more than $250 in VRs at the self-service kiosk, there was a screen on which you had to verify that you were NOT using a CVS gift card.
