That memo does not back up the cash-only rumors. It just restates what we have known so far.

Even if CVS goes to cash-only for VR, we can still get prepaid gift cards, which are only $1 more (plus MO fees).

I'm a PIN enabled gift card junkie so the VR policy won't affect me. I was getting scared that ALL prepaid cards were going to cash only.

prepaid gift cards will be gone quickly once they becomes the only source for the BB.

Prepaid gift cards are available for cc purchase in many places besides cvs.

I just hit a store in the Atlanta suburbs where the cashier is a bit of a know it all. I bought $5K worth of VRs so it took a few for him to ring me up and gave me a chance to chit chat. He gave no indication of any changes going on. I even told him I needed a bunch more and would probably be back on Tuesday or Wednesday. He said they had plenty and he would see me then.

This guy is not a manager but he does seem to know the rules (which has been both good and bad for me).

Maybe CVS reads this forum, and this is just a massive prank :D

I just bought some VRs today using my CC with no problem.

No mention of the cash only policy either.

I am located in Los Angeles County, Southern California.

According to my two CVS's you all are pranking! My go-to CVS is even restocked so my $5k was easily obtained! :)

They had no idea what I was talking about (including manager on duty).

This is in Indianapolis.

It would be helpful if people posted their location (city/state) so we can determine if this supposed cash only policy is nationwide or just a regional thing.

Just told by two different managers in florida at two different stores no more credit cards for prepaid.

Also, some reports deal with reloading serve. It could be that there is a memo about reloading serve going around and cashiers are mistakenly telling people it applies to VRs. Then again it could be cash for both now going forward or it could all be a hoax. No matter what way it turns out we will all know very soon for sure.

It seems like FL is being hit hard by this. The massive amounts of fraud there make that seem likely. I will go to a CVS later tonight and update everyone.
