I'll be back in PHL tomorrow, and I can investigate. I'm thinking about going out with a bang and buying up as many as I can.

Hooooooooooold up. WTH?!??!?!??!

THIS IS A THING??? How have the other boarding area horde, TPG, etc NOT mentioned this in their post yet?

IS THIS SERIOUSLY HAPPENING.

also I just bought 4 VR in NYC, but obviously the clerks have no idea about this issue.

FWIW, the letter posted looks authentic to me. So on 4/01, I'll be taking a copy with me when I make my rounds for manufactured spending. It clearly says the new policy will apply only to the reloadable cards, not to the standard variable load cards--and it says the registers will be hard-coded for the new policy. So it won't matter whether or not the clerks know of the policy--it will be enforced by the register. AND it doesn't matter whether or not the managers and clerks are aware that it applies only to the reloadable cards--because if they say it applies to the OneVanilla or other Visa non-reloadable variable load cards, the register will still process a sale with a credit card--and that will be the way to set the clerks/managers straight on what's involved.

If it turns out it's a hoax--congrats to the perpetrator! Well done indeed!

Maybe we can all buy a ton of CVS stock, put one of us on the board, and get this overturned.

Going to WM is sooooo depressing ... as you wait in line with those who are just trying to cash out $30

aceofcards Mar 29, 2014 4:43 pm

Ugh, I've never had to go to WM for MS and I really don't want to ...

Supervisors at two different bergen county cvs stores told me about "the email" and switching to cash only. Could've used one more month but at least hit my spend on my citi exec.

Picked up 5k in Boston today and clerk had no idea what I was talking about re: cash only. Not my regular though, so probably a useless data point as she has no idea what's going on.
