Just did a Serve reload at CVS in the North Bay (CA) after 9pm PDT, worked just fine.

Serve Reload?
Anyone try?

Anyone out in the midwest? I'd try but my CVS closed at 10.

Must be a rolling 12am.

no, just Emily to Yoko. the correlation is that when somebody mentions Yoko, the first thoughts in my head are negative with a dollop of disdain. Emily: same same! lol

Saddened as I am, the last 4-5 pages of this thread have been nothing short of hilarious. It helps that there are no good dramas on TV right now. :)

Most everyone now... Can't wait for the blogs to kill that too. Maybe Emily with a smoking gun will be posted. Lol

Anyone on ET tried One Vanillas now?

Do they actually book the $500 from the reload as "revenue"? If so, there would have to be a material decline in revenue. You've got to sell a lot of aspirin, milk and toilet paper to get to $10,000. We'd be a significant percentage of their revenue for sure.

No. Read into ASC 605 gross vs. net. You can Google it. It basically goes into the p&l similar to comission.

That will never die. Regular people buy those all the time with credit cards. If stores tell people they can only use cash or debit cards, people will freak out. Normal people will never know that VRs ever existed.

We're you one of those normal people up until 2 months ago?

Amex, Chase and Citi are going to notice a real steep decline in card activity now...

Yes. Many of my friends and family members also purchase gift cards with credit cards.

Data point - I am in my bed reading others' reports. I have no idea if you can still buy VRs with a CC. :-)

Studied that in my accounting class, PriceLine got into lots of trouble for claiming ticket sales on a gross basis instead of net basis, which inflated COGS and REV.

Stop straining your eyes reading your phone in the dark. You might have to go to CVS to get some glasses :D

Everything can die. Kroger is YMMV just as much as CVS was. In my area DFW I would estimate only half the Krogers play that game full monty. One quarter do zero cc for any prepaid debit and the other quarter only allow up to 100 on prepaid with a cc. Anything above needs to be cash.

I think you are referring to retailer gift cards ( iTunes, olive garden, chili's)... If so I agree those stand the best chance of never dying but then again.... Never say never.
