YAY!! A small glimmer of hope for at least a short reprieve for those of us in the DFW area. Thanks for reporting.

My goodness that data point means absolutely nothing. It can be a region thing where its can be applicable as of 3/31 local time. If you are out in LA or even DFW it is not even midnight yet. All this crap means nothing and we have to see how it goes tomorrow during the afternoon to evening.

9:05 pm on the West coast... same store that turned us down this morning just sold us $4000 worth. Go figure.

Rumored update to CVS systems is 430AM EST.

The last 24 hours has seen 4 CVSs and $55K VR. Pooped, I am. Waiting for it all to fade to black.

Brace yourself..... The FR is coming. Lol

Rumored by whom?

Can we stop talking about accounting? Majoring in it was enough of a PITA :D

I need a new wireless mouse, so I am heading to Walmart. I will stop on CVS on the way. I will try getting a VR, OV, and a VGC to see if any of them work.

Just bought one in CA as proof of concept. But, my credit cards are getting declined for too much spending too fast. Will buy the rest up and see if it works.

Just bought $5k worth in SoCal from my main squeeze a few minutes ago. Shift manager was oblivious about a national memo, combed through a stack of memos and only came across the one authorizing $5k/day.

Someone with too much time on their hands please go back and multi quote all of the Midwesterners who are overly confident about this being regional. I need a single post to laugh at.

Especially those DFW folks....

....except the ones that are hoping and praying, not just thinking they're in the clear ;)

regular gift cards are not problematic to be sold on credit card because they are "bought" at discount by the retailer.

the seller (amazon, home depot....) can do that, because when you use a gift card you avoid them having to pay any credit card fees. so a) they save the 1-2% on you, which they can turn around and give to the retailer that sells the cards and b) they view it as an advertising expense (think amazon's referral fee), so they might be ok with only getting 90% of the value of the card.

However, (to me) its only useful for small stuff, as I value the protections I get (such as extended warranty) when buying with a credit card which one doesn't get when buying via gift card (Say at amazon). Therfore the 5% discount isnt worth it to me for that.

I'd suggest removing that pic and black lining any of the VR card numbers before putting back up.

Hey now... None of us know we if we are still in the game. This reminds me a lot of Y2K.

DFW about to cross over to 3/31 soon...

Hope for the best, plan for the worst in DFW! I'm thinking about a midnight run - a 24 hour location in Plano always has 100-150 on the rack..

Why would you laugh? Are you a nasty human being? And exactly how have they been proved wrong?
