Los Angeles county CVS, 5pm today manager confirmed they would be moving to cash only but did not know when, and said he had not received the memo from corporate. Bought 5k on cc no problem.

Bought $3k worth of beans today in suburban Chicago where I'm traveling. Nice cashier said she hadn't heard anything about it switching to cash only but wondered why so many people were coming in to buy them today.

Bluebird, Emerald, JH Preferred, My Vanilla Debit cards - and include your friends and family.. as the world ends in 105 minutes.. we'll be spared an extra 60 in CDT.

Basically, regulators hate this and it's costing CVS and InComm real money from fraud and compliance.

Excellent post! What I don't quite understand, though, is why you insist that credit cards get screwed on these. They still get their interchange fees cut, don't they?

The CVS Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line March 31st 2014. Human decisions are removed from strategic credit card proccessing. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 31st. In a panic, they try to pull the plug...

Just picked up 5k in NJ around 9:15PM EST. Found someone's secret stash :)
Why do they bother hiding it now anyway, game ends in a few hours.

I imagine that over the next few weeks many stashes will be found.

Im glad this will be over in a few days. The world is ending mentality is getting old. A guy and his girlfriend asked me how many cards he could get at the store. I said ten as my usual clerk was ringing me up. He then comes back to ask if i heard it was going cash only soon. Said his friend told him and he came to get some

It doesnt matter if it goes cash only or not, regional or nationwide. Just let the speculation end so we can go back to business as usual

Centuries from now there will be some sort of archaeological dig when they recover VRs and the historians will give lectures about a time when VRs were distributed in a place called CVS. Apparently some sort of shrine that was dedicated to bartering with pieces of plastic in exchange for transportation and lodging through the conduit of these VR cards.

If it turns out to be regional tomorrow...

Be smart. Don't post your source in public.

Let the down votes flow!
