Will provide confirmation either way in 10 minutes. Sitting outside my CVS about to go in and try to buy a second $5k after my first round at 11am.

Have you been successful purchasing Visa GCs, Amex GCs and prepaids using a credit card? Walgreens I know have been cash only.

What I care about the most is being able to load Serve directly at CVS register.

In the memo loading Serve is stated as cash only.

Either that, or we are excluded because we are a big market for repeated AAExecutive cards. AA and Citi want folks to keep getting those AAExecutive cards and spending the 10K at CVS. Those who don't live here will likely make special arrangements to route through DFW to pick up some VRs which will perhaps encourage them to fly AA. With all the chocolate, sodas and gummi bears this will enable CVS to sell it's a big win for everyone. That's my theory.

I don't think people are going to route their flights through DFW for the sole purpose of getting VRs. Also, depending on how the citi/AA deal is structured I'm not sure AA is interested in more miles being out there. If AA sold all the miles to citi already then they would rather citi get stuck sitting on the miles so they go unredeemed. If citi keeps going back to buy more miles from AA then that may be different.

I am pretty sure this is for real. Here's my post on why: http://blog.matthewgoldman.com/post/...-for-retailers

Basically, regulators hate this and it's costing CVS and InComm real money from fraud and compliance.

I purchased 2000 + 2000 + 1000 at CVS on 6790 Central Florida Parkway in Orlando at 7:09 PM (time per last receipt).

Its not a hoax, I was in a ton or stores today and almost everyone that had the VRs , leaned over and held a piece of paper that was attched to each reg and read off the names of all the cards

Now even if they never got the notice if CV is hard coding them like 7 did and FD,DG etc etc even if the cashier wanted to sell them to you they wont beable to. Whens the last time you got a VR @ a WG? they are hard coded against selling them witha CC.

Bout all 1 could hope for is for some reason the hard coding isnt 1-2-3 and will take a # of days, and the store didnt get the notice.Chances Slim to None. But its only a matter of a day maybe before the hard coding is system wide

Im just happy I was able to get the full $30K today for my April loading took alot longer then it used to, since I never did it all in 1 day but over several weeks. It was nice while it lasted, as much as Id like to kill the bloggers they werent the main culpits. Too many CVs were getting calls asking the employees to get some VRs scratch the Pin off and tell it to them and the Idiots did it, then theers the IRS scam where they aclled people told them to buy VRs call back and they had to pay them ASAP only that way, and 3rd people would buy them and then Dispute the charges with their CC. Thusly the only way to stop most of that was simply going to Ca$h only, and they are most likley correct

Now it didnt help any when the Idiots buying these VRs had to explain everything to the employees. a bunch of employees who were telling me all about these things felt bad that reg people like me who purchased the VRs to pay their child support and x wife wont be able to any longer except with Ca$h ;) , worse was when these Idiots would hassel them when they would say Youre only allowed 1 transaction etc etc, instead of simply buying the 1 and hitting the next store.

theerw ill be something acommin down the line and these same folks will kill that for us as well

I found one Walgreens that sells OneVanilla cards on credit with loads of $500 on the register. Everything else for MS is cash only there. But I have gotten two bad cards at that WalGreens that InComm had to manually load.

I have only bought OneVanilla and a few VanillaGift cards at CVS. I am a pretty small player compared to many FTers.

All systems go! I can 100% confirm it resets at 8pm ET, midnight GMT. Just walked out with my last 9 VRs and the last they had in the store.

I've done it before, no issues

No on following

i used my id and card to buy VR the max. I used the authorized card I am on my wife's card. It didn't work because my name on ID scan has already recorded $5k.
if i didn't have to show my ID> would have worked but no. I have tried with both my STATE ID and state DL. for CVS they are same and no way around the limit.

passports book or card didn't work either
