I find it interesting that this memo has borders on the tables where the other one doesn't.
Also find it interesting that the font is different (easiest to see in the "I" in the "MIO"). Not saying that it isn't real - just another chink in the armor to give me hope this is still a farce. |

None of the DFW stores I visited have heard anything like this either.
Three stores in North Dallas were clueless when I told them why I was buying so many yesterday and today due to going to cash only. This included a manager, a supervisor, and a normal cashier at different stores. |

Just visited 4 south shore area CVS and was able to purchase from each of them with credit, no issues. Took home 12k total.

So, the same cashiers who have been bashed repeatedly for not knowing corporate policy are now proof that the sky is falling?
It couldn't be that some crazed MS'ers came in like they were buying bottled water and bread before a hurricane and breathlessly told 'em, could it? |
Ever think that the CVS stores with notice of the memo are well-run stores and the ones without notice are not? There is a lot of turnaround of employees (managers + associates) at least around my area....

Really? Given all the reports from people coming in your going to beat the drum now that maybe the cashiers are just reporting what they heard from other customers?

Am I correct that the 5k daily limit resets at 12:00GMT, or 8:00EST?

Yes, this memo is from Cary Chaney. We shall never forget this person's name.

I will just say there must have been a mad dash to CVS today. There is a CVS that is usually fairly well stocked. I never really took advantage of it except for the occasional need to meet a spend. Anyway, I stopped by to check it out today as I need to buy a couple of things from CVS anyway, and wow, was the gift card rack stripped bare of VR (normally, 2 full stacks).
Anyway, I thought I was out of luck when I spotted a few remaining ones. Even though I really hate to have my DL scanned (not a fan), I cleared the rest. I was hoping to buy a bit more, but it'll do. Cashier was kind and nonchalant about the whole thing, casual inquiry chat about why people buy it and he also mentioned that people come in often to buy lots of them. ;) No mention of the upcoming change. |
As mentioned by others the only thing making me think (hope) this is a hoax is that we actually had a few people say they saw this posted yet they didn't think to take a photo of it.

We should open a store and setup a merchant account to sell VRs online! Yea there are many problems with this scenario I am well aware, but its the thought that counts.

went to one i rarely go and had no problem grabbing few, the lady supervisor told me btw it is gonna be cash only------- I told her yeahhhhhhhhhhh from tomorrow and I saw the memo.
I tried with my US passport card but wouldn't scan in the back and had to use my DL for only few since I bought remaining of the $5k this morning. I guarantee VR will be dead from tomorrow In most or ALL states where you have CVS, it will be completely dead in just 3 days in all states and cities where there is a CVS. If your manager or supervisor or cashier didn't know the new rule yet, blame him or her for not finding out the new info, but the register will stop accepting CC. |
Just drove from my house to the airport and stopped at 3 different CVS locations in South Florida. Bought a month worth of ice cream (which I never do in 1 day). Now I have enough ice cream to feed my BB in April, but that's all.
I'm glad I bought 1 ice cream on Saturday where the cashier told me it was cash only. I told him to double check with his Manager... manager came and told me it will be cash only starting Monday. I was  then I read it here and :( It was a great ride for 1+ years... Too bad it had to end. |

LOL. Perhaps none of the DFW store managers read their emails. It will be fun to see how it all turns out tomorrow.
