1 report from the Midwest. Dozens from the East Coast. Plus many non-reports from the Midwest. Still sounds regional to me. I hope I'm right. We won't have long to wait...

It took a couple days to complete the change nationally. People rushed out the last days to stock up - similar to this scenario.

I was the first (unfortunately) to report it here, after walking into OD for the first time with my shiny new Ink on a Saturday morning.

Some people managed to still buy at their stores Saturday and Sunday. By Monday morning, everything was dead and gone.

Except for this youtube video by amolkold which lives on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6R5cEEqXpk. amolkold, the community demands a CVS sequel :D.

Was there such a rush to get to the store when OD stopped selling VRs? Or did that just happen overnight?

News broke and I was able to buy about $6K at 2 stores before the 3rd store said "no" and showed the memo to stop selling.

They let me buy thousands worth of VRs, but God forbid I want two donuts.

All that healthcare store spending, they don't want you ruining it with two donuts ;).

A sad day indeed.

I can't believe how popular that became :D:D

I wonder if the amount of views and posts that will happen at 12:00 AM ET will crash FT. Hopefully not :D

silver4300 Mar 30, 2014 9:15 pm

I wonder who will be the first to post a data point after 12:00 AM ET. And how soon after 12:00 AM will it be?

I remember your fateful post well, and the now-classic video! That last weekend at OD is feeling a lot like this weekend. But I still say this is TBD if it's nationwide!

Have to admit that I took time to read this post. I like this kind of thing.
Well written in my book.

I was told in north Dallas around 8:30pm by a store clerk "just so you know, pretty soon these will be cash only" "Oh, really? Do you know when?" "No, but we got an email yesterday, Saturday, about the change". I bought 2 PayPals there.

Not good...

commdiver Mar 30, 2014 9:21 pm

So, be honest, have any of you called or texted that guy who sent out the e-mail to CVS managers about this policy?

you haven't heard... with the increase of CO2 emissions from MS people rushing from cvs to cvs to get as many VR's as possible before the 31st, previous models for ocean level increases due to global warming are proving far too conservative. by this time 2 days before the day after tomorrow, St. Louis WILL be the east coast!

oh.... my.... god.

an accident involving a speed boat and a beaver dam is also exacerbating the issue.

WE DIDN'T LISTEN....
