Serve Reload?
Anyone try?

Anyone out in the midwest? I'd try but my CVS closed at 10.

Must be a rolling 12am.

Well I did a $1K load earlier today, so I would say in terms of loading Serve, they do work on Eastern time. As far as CVS coding is concerned, I'm not sure if they meant 3/31 12am EDT. Either way, I just finished my 5k for the month, so atleast I got that going for me :) and no mention of them changing over to cash only as well.

Is it sad that I'm in my local cvs in CA even though there's nothing that can come of it. My sister just needed to go so I decided to tag along. lol

Stop straining your eyes reading your phone in the dark. You might have to go to CVS to get some glasses :D

Depending on the reports, I may need that aspirin and the TP! :D:D

I think you are referring to retailer gift cards ( iTunes, olive garden, chili's)... If so I agree those stand the best of never dying but then again.... Never say never.

I meant Visa & MC GCs. Maybe I am just weird, but WAY before I even knew what points were, I regularly purchased GCs with my credit card. Most of my friends do that as well. They make great gifts.

It would be great if FT can provide automatic page refresh so that i do not need to refresh the page manually every 5s to check new reports from all the states!!

I purchased retail cards as gifts but never a bank branded variable load type. I know Matt loves Best Buy so get him a BBY card. Paying 5 extra bucks so Matt could spend it wherever he wanted never made sense. I'd save the 4.95 and give him cash in that case. ( thinking from a purely non point generating "normal' mindset)

Never say never. Office Depot eventually prohibited VGCs with CCs, which are the ones we care about. I'm sure the "regular" people don't buy $500 GCs to give as gifts. They can continue to allow CCs with the set value GCs and probably not lose out on much business if that is what they are worried about.

My dad is still out buying VRs around DFW successfully at this time, so it wasn't a full ET cutoff at least.

No. Read into ASC 605 gross vs. net. You can Google it. It basically goes into the p&l similar to comission.

Studied that in my accounting class, PriceLine got into lots of trouble for claiming ticket sales on a gross basis instead of net basis, which inflated COGS and REV.

Doesn't or didnt Groupon do the same?

Correct, Groupon did the same. They should have hired the EY San Jose office rather than the Chicago one.

YAY!! A small glimmer of hope for at least a short reprieve for those of us in the DFW area. Thanks for reporting.

Rumored update to CVS systems is 430AM EST.

The last 24 hours has seen 4 CVSs and $55K VR. Pooped, I am. Waiting for it all to fade to black.

I'm not an accountant, but I remember this issue from priceline.

CVS is lucky if they're not treating it as "revenue." It would definitely be a "big deal" on Wall Street if it were. They can probably afford to lose the $3.95 -- which I assume IS revenue -- but that might even be noticeable. Not sure how much other traffic this drives.

Someone joked (?) above about lower credit card sales, but I think we're little fish in that big sea. And, besides, the MS crowd will move elsewhere. Perhaps at lower levels, but the shift will occur.
