I am somewhat concerned that my battery is not charging on my Blackberry. Something certainly seems amiss.

It is loading pretty slow. Could be the free wifi at RIC, or IB shenanigans.

Have you tried using a pencil eraser to "erase" the contacts to ensure they are connecting well?

Well, there are a couple of issues there. Firstly, the phone (and battery) are brand new. Secondly, bad or corroded contacts would likely cause power to fluctuate and the phone to brown out, but it operates just fine. I'm suspecting a bad battery control module in the phone (unlikely), a bad battery (somewhat more likely), or I'm being paranoid because it is a new phone and I'm afraid it will break (quite likely).

Understand the paranoia ;) However, I have had new equipment have a film on the battery that wasn't properly removed and inhibiting a great connection. Hopefully, it's all good!
