I remember when my Marriott account dropped below 100,000 points during my period of unemployment. Quite scary.
Lunch draws nigh. The points + cash is tempting me of late at a few hotels as well, because they have some really ince cash+points deals going. |
My clean-up will at least put my balance back over 50,000 until I earn two more FFNs, which is 6 nights in PH Mendoza or 10 nights in New Zealand.

Was just perusing out in the main CO Forum. Really an interesting battle going on out there. You have some diehard "CO can do no wrong types" battling some "CO can never do anything right types". It is really comical. As someone that is not a CO elite but for years flew CO and got elite treatment due to NW PE status, I always thought CO was an efficient operation, had nice planes with hard working staff.
Conversely being CLT based, it had a few too many RJs for my liking (especially out to IAH), and when compared to NW, its FFP was not quite as strong if you wanted to redeem on CO. Redeeming on other partners was a different matter.;) Personally without the benefit of having flown CO as much as some, I was always pleased and thought it was a solid airline for the most part. Ahhh well, I guess you have to be at the extremes these days out in FT world beyond teh Box.;) |

The designer I saw this morning was really nice. I liked her. I liked her ideas. Now I am waiting for her to do a design and give me the price. Sticker shock ahead! |
Just got out of an impromptu meeting asking me to collaborate on a journal article.

The notable exception to that is Hyatt. Because the vast majority of their properties are corporate owned (not franchised) they have very strict corporate standards, and a strong service culture that are actually adhered to.
That, and they hire people based on personality and have some stellar bennies. :-: |

Why? Because I work at a  and therefore, despite earning a meager living for a major city I'm too hip to help the likes of a customer. I must instead dedicate my time to proving how much power I have and making the customer respect me because with me, nothing is possible. That and making snarky comments behind the customer's back, despite them being able to hear me.
