If you search my posts for that time frame, with the word "Samuri," you ought to find it; the thing invoked an image for me of (John Belushi style) samuri GS members roaming the concourse and aircraft cabins, maintaining their position by force.

CM also picked it up, and posted the link the same day.

Oh, oh. The post submit timed out. DDoS again?

you mean 'samurai' -- right?!;)

IAH-AUS already cleared. I expect DEN-IAH to clear tonight.

I did the AUS-IAH-DEN this past Sunday night. After the DEN-EWR, next is BDL-EWR-IAH-AUS on Thanksgiving day. That last batch is on K, who knows if I'll clear on any of those segments. I'm always surprised to see any AUS/IAH segments clear because of the mass load of elites on that route.

Can't believe that I get the control panel replaced on my furnace -- only to find out that the gas value is not working (gee, had not really noticed that the heat was not on -- was napping this morning!)! So have to wait for another service call from heating system folks!

Can ya tell that I really don't want to do any 'work' today?!

Yeah, the AUS/IAH segments are always surprising to get an upgrade on... Oddly enough, my Saturday IAH-AUS is pretty empty.

I would imagine upgrades are somewhat easier to come by on Turkey Day itself as loads are usually light.

Couple of years ago back during the CO MSP-LGW mistake fare period, I flew upgraded with NW miles from IAH-LGW in BF, and it was a very empty cabin on T-Day.

My EWR-PBI flight on the evening before Thanksgiving doesn't appear to be close to being full (but, of course F is almost booked ). That flight is usually packed!

The sad state of PBI upgrades. Except for the summer, it is still probably the toughest non-hub city to find an elite upgrade on any airline that flies there.

My clean-up will at least put my balance back over 50,000 until I earn two more FFNs, which is 6 nights in PH Mendoza or 10 nights in New Zealand.

The PH Mendoza is worth the points. ^

And I got invited to a party up there this month. I always maintain that I will go anywhere for a party but now am ruling out Alaska in the winter.

It will, however, be a pretty good party.

The box is moving a bit slow this afternoon. And we're so close to 113,000.
