Friend just told me about a bumper sticker:

"Honk if you love Jesus, text him if you want to see him in person!"

BAGLADY and PlusOne Hope BaglAdy Jr feels better.

At iah on plane to atl. 73g landing gear lever has a "do not operate sticker on it." it may be awhile before I leave.

That just means that maintenance is in the wheel well. Of course it also might mean a delay. :D

Indeed.

My new supervisor (who used to be two levels below me) picked up a citation for 75 in a 50 today - she said she was just going to pay the ticket because she happened to be texting and deserved the fine.

Why? Because I work at a W and therefore, despite earning a meager living for a major city I'm too hip to help the likes of a customer. I must instead dedicate my time to proving how much power I have and making the customer respect me because with me, nothing is possible. That and making snarky comments behind the customer's back, despite them being able to hear me.

(Good luck)

That's exactly the impression I got today. What a waste of time.

ETA: Also, good luck Mike!

Thanks. It was a five-minute talent fair puppy mill how you doin' interview. When they told me that the other two people that I would be potentially working with were hired for local knowledge and not their hotel background, I wanted to leave skid marks on the floor and beat feet out of there like a cartoon character. The last time I heard that from someone, the person who said it was 18 years old and was soaking wet behind the ears. It's also a glaring indicator that they are unwilling to pay commensurate with experience.

I bet you'll do just fine.

I maintained my self-discipline. I don't expect a return call, as I really do not believe that I am the W type, especially after the posts some of y'all have made today. I actually care if a hotel guest is happy and will indeed bend over backwards to get done what they ask. I guess that's out of style these days.

Anyone know what thread is being referenced in the CO/UA upgrades thread about snatching of a boarding pass? I can't find it in the UA boards.

It's not in UA. It was a post in CO talking about UA integration in which someone told the story of a UGS who snatched boarding passes out of the hands of people who in the GS's opinion had been upgraded over he. GS snatches the boarding passes, cracks some rude insult, and walks to the counter demanding one of their seats which he feels should be his. Turns out the people he went all nuts at were paid J. The flight's purser stood up for them, apologized profusely, and denied the GS boarding.

I've never stayed at a W - mentioned that recently when asked if Andaz was Hyatt's version of one. If the culture is as described, I think you're better off.

Sorry to hear. But, you never know. A job is a job and working in a W, despite my snark, would be kinda cool... Plus, it's always easier to get a job when you already have one. ;)

Reminds me of the self-entitled US elite in CLT who demanded his upgrade and when they started clearing battlefields and I went up to the podium to retrieve my up'ed BP he took one look at me,'ed, and said "if he got upgraded, I certainly did."

yadda yadda yadda... he never ended up boarding the flight. :-:
