If UA didn't want us abusing overly generous routing rules, cheap/mistake Q-ups, and double EQMs, then they shouldn't offer such things. Until they stop, ALCO will continue to fly them on $200 transcon Q-ups that earn 100,000% RDMs on BD and I'll continue to exploit them for elite status by turning an ATL-MSY roundtrip into a 6,500 mile journey around the nation that takes all day and gives more than 10% of the EQMs I need for 1K in a single trip.

Thanks. I only pulled it off this year thanks to two rounds of double EQMs. I would have hit 2P on UA no matter what, and 1P with just a little effort. 1K took a little more effort, but was still totally doable, and worth it for the SWUs and CR1s that are soon to be mine.

Now to start planning next year's vacations. I'm hoping a nice mistake fare that is upgradeable will turn up somewhere.

I'm quite fortunate that I can pull off all this elite status on mostly business travel. Moving actually helped with that. My schedule often has projects on it a year or two in advance, and much of my current workload was set while I was living in Houston. Had I not moved, I would have two clients right now I'd be driving to. Thanks to moving, those two clients require a flight.

I agree completely - I'm ticked because I had just gotten my BD Gold status match!

Many men would argue the opposite.

Good evening, box. Taking the red eye PDX-IAH tonight. Probably my last trip here until next year. Spent the evening in teh Alaska Boardroom - quiet and nice. Wondering around the Alaska main terminal - it's much nicer than the D side where CO and Delta are. Not surprisingly! With no one around, the wireless is speedier. :D

I'm hungry. Should have eaten dinner tonight.

Still boggles my mind that Thanksgiving is a week from today.

Since I've been in Australia and New Zealand for the past month everything has turned to Christmas theme here which has thrown me off whack. At home I would at least look forward to Thanksgiving first then all the Christmas stuff but being here everywhere you look it's Christmas decorations, sales, perfect gift suggestions, etc, etc.

I found this really cool Japanese restaurant near the Hilton Sydney, I think it is called Asago. Helped that it was always packed with people. A four inch freshly made sushi roll with salmon and avocado is only $3.50. Two of those and a large warm gyoza for $9 total. ^

Well, I did snack in the lounge. I wasn't very hungry then. Now I'm starting to want something to munch on.
